Shabbir arrested, Malik remains under detention 

Srinagar, April 29 (KMS):
In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani have urged India to fulfil its promises of giving the Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self-determination. The APHC Chairman addressing Juma congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, pointed out that Kashmir was one of the oldest unresolved disputes of the world and its solution was not possible without taking the Kashmiri people on board. He reiterated that the Kashmiris’ would continue their liberation struggle till its logical end.
Syed Ali Gilani addressing a public gathering in Bandipore Chowk, today, maintained that illegal arrests and use of brute force could not suppress Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination. He said that India should accept Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory, release illegally detained Kashmiris, repeal draconian laws and withdraw its troops from Jammu and Kashmir to show sincerity towards resolving the lingering dispute.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani and Shabbir Ahmad Shah said that the revocation of the Dogra certificate by the occupation authorities was a victory of the determination of Kashmiri people. They maintained that the issuance of certificate to residents of Jammu region was aimed at dividing the Kashmiris on regional basis.
Indian police arrested senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah in Awantipora while he was on his way to addressing a gathering in Tral. Liberation leaders, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi remained under illegal detention at Kothi Bagh police station in Srinagar for the second consecutive day, today. Amid complete shutdown, people took to the streets in Maisuma, Kokar Bazar, Gaw Kadal and Budshah Chowk areas of Srinagar to protest against illegal detention of the two leaders.
The JKLF-R leader, Javed Ahmed Mir led a demonstration in Aabiguzar area of Srinagar against gross human rights violations by Indian police and troops in the occupied territory.
APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, addressing a gathering at Bagh-e-Mehatab in Srinagar appealed to the international community to play its role in the release of illegally detained Kashmiris.
