Afridi demolished Canada, Pakistan won by 46 runs

Shahid Afridi's five-wicket spell, including two in two balls, jolted Canada's dream of beating Pakistan in a Group A encounter in Colombo on Thursday. Canada's middle order batsmen Zubin Surkari and Jimmy Hansra put up an unbeaten 50-run partnership to breathe life into Canada's chase of 184 against Pakistan to register a famous victory. Pakistan bowlers continued to choke Canada for runs and chip away with wickets at regular intervals, with Afridi getting rid of Ashish Bagai (16).

Shahid Khan Afridi, Pakistan Captain
Canada made the worst possible start to their chase of a possible famous victory over Pakistan as they lost two wickets in two overs after their bowlers restricted Pakistan to 184. Opener Ruvindu Gunasekara was taken out by Umar Gul who needed a review to get the not-out decision by the on-field umpire overruled in his favour. On the other hand, Abdul Razaaq castled young Nitish Kumar. Earlier, little-known fast bowler Harvir Baidwan grabbed three wickets and helped a spirited Canada bowl out Pakistan for just 184. In the end, Canadians fell short by 46 runs as Pakistan beat them by a decisive and comprehensive victory.

Supreme Court blasts Reko Diq rules relaxation

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that amendments or relaxations made in the mines and mineral rules were persons- or company-specific to award the Reko Diq gold and copper contract to the BHP Billiton, an Australian Jewish company. The BHP sold its shares the Tethyan Copper Company Pakistan (Pvt) Limited (TCCP), a joint venture of Barrick Gold Corporation of Canada and Chile-based Antofagasta PLC. A three-member bench of the apex court has been hearing petitions challenging the award of a contract to the TCCP for exploring gold and copper at Reko Diq in Chagai, Balochistan. Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, heading the bench, remarked that they never ever discouraged foreign companies to invest in Pakistan, but they have to follow the Pakistani law. He said they only have to examine the legality of the case. The CJP said not a single company exploring oil and gas in Balochistan and other provinces ever asked for the relaxation of rules; why it was done in the BHP, TCCP case. Justice Sair Ali questioned the counsel for TCCP, Khalid Anwar, whether all the relaxations obtained by the BHP were by fraudulent misrepresentation.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan
Anwar said every proposal by the BHP was vetted by every relevant department of both federal and provincial governments and there was not a single dissenting note by any of them. He said not the BHP but the Balochistan Development Authority applied for the relaxation in rules, adding if there was a mistake then it was on the part of the Balochistan government. Justice Ghulam Rabbani asked whether it was the mistake of the Balochistan government. “If it was a mistake, then it is a void contract”. The CJP said it was not the job of the Supreme Court to interpret the contract, but they would like to know why it was persons- or company-specific. TCCP lawyer Khalid Anwar informed the court that the BHP Billiton had consulted all the departments of Balochistan, including ministries of industries, planning, law and finance, as they were members of the Mines Committee, and all gave approval to the joint venture agreement. It took two years to get the contract.

He said the consultation took place with unprecedented depth and serious analysis not merely with the Balochistan government but also with the federal government, though there was no legal requirement for it. In addition to that, he said, the BHP requested the UN Department of Socio-Economic Development for data and input relating to the international practice on the quantum of royalty. This is in contrast to the manner and procedure, according to that the government of Balochistan was awarded not only prospecting, but also exploration licences and even in one case the mining lease without processing their cases thoroughly. The counsel said: “Our area with the TCC is 0.8% of the total area of Chagai, which according to the Balochistan government was legally valid”. He said Chagai is extended over 44,000 square kilometres, while EL-5 is 435 sq km and the area of mining is only 3 to 5 sq km. Shameless lawyer of TCCP Anwar argued that Pakistan’s economy depended upon the IMF and the World Bank, despite having world's largest Gold and Copper reserves.

CIA's "Cold Blooded Killer" has no immunity, says respected Lahore court

Respected court of Lahore, while hearing Davis case, has said a CIA contractor facing trial over the fatal shooting of two men does not have diplomatic immunity. The court also adjourned hearing of the case where Raymond Davis, 36, is being tried until March 8. Thursday's decision of the respected court is a serious blow to the USZ, which has been shamelessly singing its inhumane rhymes of "diplomatic immunity" for a Police certified "Cold Blooded Killer" and "International Terrorist". The case has further inflamed anti-American sentiment in Pakistan and is testing the often-strained ties between the allies. Pakistan Army and ISI have clearly warned USZ to stop all its covert subversive activities inside Pakistan immediately otherwise there are no chances of revival of rapidly deteriorating relationship of Pakistan and United States of Zionism.

The CIA terrorist Raymond Davis
Last month an influential USZ senator and a member of Skull & Bones Zionist Society of University of Yale, John Kerry, apologized to the Pakistani government over the shooting. USZ puppet president Obama said during his usual Baracking against Pakistan that the American cold blooded killer enjoyed diplomatic immunity. Along with the two men Davis shot, a third Pakistani was killed when struck by a USZ car rushing to aid the American on January 27 in Lahore. The USZ embassy in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, has not yet been able to supply the respected court with enough proofs in support of Davis, because quite frankly, there aren't any. The decision came a day after the CIA brand of "Taliban" operating in Pakistan (TTP) shot dead a government minister, Shahbaz Bhatti. Lahore lawyers slammed this despicable subversive attack against Pakistan as a deliberate move by CIA to pressurize Pakistan on Davis case at international level.

Pak-China jointly constructing missile carrier boats

Reports arriving from APP (Beijing) say that Pakistan and China have embarked on a joint venture for the construction of two missile carrier boats in the Chinese port city of Tianjin. Under the joint venture signed between Pakistan Navy and China Shipbuilding and Offshore International Company, two boats capable of carrying missiles will be manufactured in Pakistan and China simultaneously.

Chinese FAC Missile Boat in South China Sea
Vice Admiral Tanveer Faiz Ahmed was the chief guest at the keel laying ceremony in China. In Pakistan, the boat will be built at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works. The boat will be equipped with the latest weapons along with sensors, which would be an important addition to the fleet of Pakistan Navy. It is important to note that China already has a large number of high quality missile boats that are already serving in the deployed fleets of PLA in the South China Sea.

Gaddafi: "Libya could turn to China for help against USZ/UK/EU/UN oil thugs"

Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi has warned the West against intervening to support the rebellion against the state of Libya, saying that would unleash a “very bloody war” in which “thousands of Libyans would die.” Speaking live on state television, Gaddafi again blamed the West for the challenge to his 41-year iron-fisted rule, saying the objective was to control Libya’s land and oil. He promised to fight to the last man and woman. Addressing “our friends in Europe and the West,” he said it is “not at all in their interest to shake the Libyan regime”, and that the country could turn to Chinese, Indian, South Korean and Brazilian firms as business partners. In an impassioned two-and-a-half hour speech, he denied there had been any peaceful demonstrations since the uprising broke out on February 15 and challenged calls for him to step down, saying he has “no real power.” As the United States of Zionism, Nato and the globalist zionist deception machine United Nations consider imposing a no-fly zone on Libya, or even launching air strikes, the former colonel warned the “battle will be very very long” if there is any intervention.“If the Americans or the West want to enter Libya they must know it will be hell and a bloodbath — worse than Iraq.” He said Libya would turn to the East - China, India, South Korea - and other friendly nations such as Brazil for economic cooperation.

Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi live on State TV
“We will get Chinese and Indian firms instead of Western ones.” He also addressed the Libyan people, whom he said were solidly behind him. He warned of the grave consequences that could result if the western mercenaries backed rebellion succeeds and urged them to snuff it out, while he also promised a shining future if they did. He told the people of Benghazi “to go out and remove the weapons from the hands of the children”. Gaddafi criticized media reports about the resignations of senior officials from his regime including several military leaders and ambassadors abroad. The resignations from abroad, the statements from inside (Libya) ... don’t believe them”, he said. As far as Libya is concerned ... nothing happened ... and it is strange that the world received news from correspondents and TV stations not present in Libya. Gaddafi urged the international community to establish a commission of inquiry into the estimated deaths of at least 1,000 people killed in the unrest by his forces. “We urge the world, the United Nations, to see where the people were killed, to send a fact-finding team to investigate”.

He also lashed out at moves by several countries to freeze Libyan assets, which he called an act of “piracy.” “The assets are the assets of the Libyan nation” and they have “no right” to seize them. “I am the asset of Libya, not the American dollar. Meanwhile, forces loyal to Gaddafi have moved into rebel territory in the east and are battling for an oil installation in the town of Brega. Its manager said government forces took control at dawn without force. Pro-Gaddafi jets also bombed an arms dump in the nearby city of Ajdabiya.

Lawyers: ‘Bhatti's Murder is a plot to pressurize Pakistan over Davis’

The lawyers on Wednesday resented the murder of Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti, terming it a plot executed by the anti-Pakistan elements to put further pressure on the country. They said there was no reason, whatsoever, for any Muslim to kill Bhatti. But they did not rule out possibility of foreign powers behind the barbarous act. Lahore High Court Bar Association President Ashgar Ali Gill, former Bar secretary Rana Asadullah Khan, Pakistan Bar Council Ehsan Bhon and others vehemently condemned the murder and said that the increase in heinous acts in the most sensitive city of Islamabad “shows that some elements want to destabilise Pakistan.”

They also suspected the murder a move to put pressure on Pakistan on Raymond Davis case so that America could take its citizen out of the country. They were of the view that since arrest of Davis, no subversive act took place and that was ample proof that America was directly involved behind chaos in Pakistan but our rulers were paying no heed to this aspect. They called for immediate arrest of the accused persons so that the public could be informed about the actual facts and the country should be saved from anarchy and unrest.
