The Defense Department was the victim of a cyber attack that resulted in the loss of 24,000 files, Deputy Defense Secretary William J. Lynn III disclosed Thursday.The attack, which happened in the spring, was perpetrated by "foreign intruders" and affected a defense contractor, Lynn said during a speech at the National Defense University, The Washington Post reported. Lynn did not identify the intruders, and said the theft was "data-related," Politico said.In the same speech, Lynn unveiled the department's new strategy for operating in cyberspace, which is intended to be a unified approach for DoD's Web-based military, intelligence, and business operations.
"The cyber threats we face are urgent, sometimes uncertain and potentially devastating as adversaries constantly search for vulnerabilities," Lynn said in a statement. "Our infrastructure, logistics network and business systems are heavily computerized. With 15,000 networks and more than seven million computing devices, DoD continues to be a target in cyberspace for malicious activity."Wednesday, 20 July 2011

Gaddafi's speech was broadcast over loudspeakers to supporters in al-Aziziya, 50 kilometres (30 miles) west of the capital, Tripoli. The Libyan ruler said millions of people will fight with him to defend their honor as well as the country's oil resources and rightfully so, the Libyans showed their love on 1st July, 2011 when more than 1 million gathered in the capital to show their love for Gaddafi.
Iran shoots down USZ drone near Nuclear Site
Iran's Press TV reported that Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has shot down a USZ spy drone which was flying over the central Iranian province of Qom, a lawmaker says. A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Majlis (Parliament), Ali Aqazadeh Dafsari, said on Tuesday that the unmanned spy plane was flying near the Fordo nuclear enrichment plant in Qom province when the IRGC's Air Defense units brought it down, Javanoline.ir reported on Tuesday. The official stated that the USZ drone was on a mission to identify the location of the Fordo nuclear enrichment plant and gather information about the nuclear facility for the CIA, Dafsari stated.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN - At least four Pakistani soldiers were martyred and two others sustained injuries when mortar shells fired from across the border by USZ-NATO backed forces hit a check post in South Waziristan Agency on Tuesday. At least 3 mortar shells fired from Afghanistan hit a security check post in Angoor Adda in South Waziristan. As a result, four security personnel were martyred on the spot, while two others sustained injuries. The check post was completely destroyed in the attack. Officials said more than 20 mortar shells were fired from across the border and three of them slammed into a paramilitary forces check post. In recent weeks, tensions have sharply risen on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as USZ-NATO backed attacks inside Pakistani territory have stepped up in which many people, including security men, have been martyred.
