{EOP}Weapons of psychological warfare used by media

Media holds a crucial position in our life in the modern world. It has certainly helped this earth in becoming a global village. It has made the man more aware, systematic and sophisticated. But here we intend to discuss the other aspect of media which has caused havoc in our lives with out our realization.
Various techniques are used that are aimed to influence the target audience’s value systems, belief systems, emotions, motives and behavior. It in fact controls the human mind and heart.
We are truthful to say that it has rather become a weapon of psychological warfare.

Psychological warfare may also be defined as:
"The planned use of propaganda and other psychological actions having the primary purpose of influencing the opinions, emotions, attitudes, and behavior of hostile foreign groups.”

Psychological warfare employs any weapon to influence the mind of the enemy. The weapons are psychological only in the effect they produce and not because of the weapons themselves.
There are various techniques used by the media controlling elite to monitor psychological warfare. The greatest social messages are promoted through movies, dramas in short by television, throughfixation of motive sequences (not logical or factual) but emotional sequences, thrusting their point across in an emotional way which gets registered and fixed in the back of the viewer’s mind without even he realizing it. Since the mind is being fed with entirely new ideas, the censor part of the brain is inactive thus being unable to reach a conclusion about what is being fed.
Social engineers have refined techniques designed to control large populations over the past 200 years and what they show on the screen or broadcast through the radio is a cautiously designed heap of merciless propaganda in disguise of entertainment, which not only numbs the viewer/listener’s mind but also his soul.
The cultural industry initiated by Soviet Union is called cultural industry for a reason. All this really took off when television hit the market and men started becoming busy in sports / talk shows while women started getting busy in soaps, dramas, high dramas and films, fashion shows and fashion industry advertisement programs on the weekends. Already purchased journalists and advertisement industries started corrupting the masses even at a wider scale when television satellites started launching one after another which made the TV broadcast possible over the entire globe worldwide, from the shoe maker’s home to the president’s house and public shopping malls.

Advertising is a form of communication intended to persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to purchase or take some action upon products, ideas, or services.
It is a powerful tool in any society run by the mass media. It actually fuels the engines of the television.

Covert hypnosis through Advertisements:
Lets not go far and be precise, we will ponder over a few native advertisements which our shown 24/7 on our screens.
“Jiger aaj kya irada hai?”
”Mall aaj jana hai,
Shopping ka bahana hai...”
“SMS ki bharmaar! Pura hafta LAGATAR..

It’s fun to be young!
Let’s analyze the above statement of a telenor Ad.
It rather sounds a cool offer, If you are able to justify the usage of this very offer. But what does “It’s fun to be young” depict?
Is it a call to invite the youngsters’ to keep messaging th x.y.z the entire week?
Yes! it is.
Where we had youngsters like ‘Muhammed bin Qasim’ who invaded Sindh at the age of 17, our youngsters are being taught to keep messaging 7 days of the week.

Another Ad which invites to “Jagty raho- saari raat, free mai baat”
This is an Ad which gives a free baat for saari raat!
What do you assume, it invites for?
It encourages the audience which largely comprises of the youth, to get involved in sheer khurafaat.
If you look into the matter, their offer is a severe one, the youth gets attracted to such offers, avails it and get indulged into mere degradation, resulting into serious consequences.
On the other hand they are suggesting to waste the entire night on the phone and of course you won’t talk to your ‘Khala’ the entire night. It is also seriously harmful from the health and scientific point of view to stay awake all night and that too with a cell phone on your ear.

" Do you marvel at this statement, and laugh and do not weep, while you amuse yourselves [proudly] in vanities? Rather, prostrate before Allah and worship Him." Soorah An-Najm[1]

Where as we are the inheritors of the glorious traditions where are pious ancestors used to spend their entire nights in prostrations’.

Kabhi eh naujawan-e-muslim! taddabur bhi kia tune
Wo kya gardoon tha tu jiska hai ek toota hua tara

The media, especially television is playing a vital role in bringing up the children and youth of today. Sopractically they are being brought up by the television.
And the role of television doesn’t need to be explained.

You all might have watched an Ad, probably of Habib Bank. In that Ad, the lady talks about her budget being tight for minute desires. For that she is reluctant to praise her husband either. To that she finds a solution of a monthly saver account (Munafa) provided by the bank, so that she can easily be extravagant.
Here, munafa is actually ‘suud’ (interest)
Visualize the features of a single 50 seconds Ad:
1. They are promoting ‘suud’. ( which is like being at war with Allah and Holy Prophet p.b.u.h)
2. Giving women ways to be extravagant.
3. Encouraging women and children to open bank accounts out of no need.
4. Encouraging house wives why to praise their husbands for minute desires.

“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, due to what God has given the one more (strength) than the other, and due to the sustenance they provide from their own means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband’s) absence what God would have them guard.' [AlQuran (4: 34-35)]

Fikr-e-Arab ko de ker frangi takhleeqat
Islam ko hejaz-o-yemen se nikal do

The magnum Ad is an Ad of an ’ice-cream’ bar. The ad speaks itself that it is actually advertising the model but not the ice-cream. Vulgarity at its peak! They have tried to expose the model by every possible way despite of knowing these channels are watched by the families.

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof;’’ (Quran 24:31).

It rather gives an awful impression on the audience which in some cases has an extreme impact, indulging the audience into sinful activities.

Hind k shair-e-surat gar-o-afasana nawais,
Ah! Becharon k a’saab per aurat hai sawaar

Our ideology is Islam which gives the women, a dignified, honorable social status. Woman who means‘hijab’,where as media is far beyond ‘hijab’,’honour’ and ‘dignity’. That’s what it’s teaching our girls and women today. On the other hand it’s inviting man to vulgarity and indecency.

The ‘slice’ mango drink Ad advertises idiotic aspects of the model with sheer vulgarity instead of advertising simply the fruity, sweet juicy drink!
The improper scenes actually invite to obscenity, encouraging the girls and boys of today to do wrong deeds, not only the youngsters but even the aged ones.

“And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance” (33:33)

Unknowingly we are getting so much influenced that we our self have forgotten the true social and religious values.

~Hum Mashriq k miskeenon ka dil maghrib mai jaa utka hai

In a ’Capri’ soap Ad, the girls proudly say “compromise karna toh humein aata hi nahi”. Through their media they are injecting the secularism in our youth so that we could be able to harm the purpose of creation of this sacred land.

Iqbal ko shak iski sharafat mai nahi hai
Her millat-e-mazloom ka Europe hai khareedar

In a fashion show, the program co-ordinater ’Tahmeena Khalid’ justified the liberalism and westernization depicted from their apparels by saying that they are promoting a ‘softer’ image of Pakistan. They want to tell the world that Pakistan is much more than bomb blasts, burning the schools etc.

"And there are among men those who purchase idle talk in order to mislead others from Allah's path without knowledge, and who throw ridicule upon it. For such there will be a humiliating punishment" ( Surah al-Luqman, ayah-13)

~Hath be zor, ilhaad se dil khoogar hain,
Ummati bais-e-ruswaie paighumber hain

Yes, they must tell the world but not on the cost of selling our ideology and murdering our identity. Half nude apparels, boldness, illicit relations are not helping to give a ‘softer image’ of Pakistan at all. We have our ideology-Islam for which our identity-Pakistan came into being. If we lose our Ideology, our identity will ultimately be lost!

Who zamane main moaziz thay muslaman ho kar
Aur tum khuwar hue tarik-e-Qur’an ho kar

There are several more advertisements that can’t be summed up in this article which are a source of corrupting the minds immensely. Every Ad is a weapon itself now. Not merely Advertisements but the television itself. Westernization CAN NOT be the key to our success at all.
Candidly for once, keeping the ideology of Islam forth along with your identity, analyze, where this media is taking us.

{EOP}Pakistan: Plugging the Cold Start Gap

Pakistan has successfully conducted the first flight test of the newly developed Short Range Surface to Surface Multi Tube Ballistic Missile Hatf IX (Nasr), much to the chagrin of Indian defence planners, as is evident from the Indian Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) report: ‘Pakistan: Making Sense Of Nasr Ballistic Missile Test – Analysis’. The IDSA report tries to nullify the analyses by Pakistani experts. Undoubtedly, Nasr has been developed to add deterrence value to Pakistan’s Strategic Weapons Development programme at shorter ranges. With a range of 60 km, Nasr carries both tactical nuclear and high-explosive conventional warheads. It is powered by a high-thrust single-stage solid-propellant rocket motor. Nasr’s launch platform is a double-tube transporter erector launcher (TEL) capable of carrying two missiles with high accuracy and shoot-&-scoot attributes. This quick response system addresses the need to deter evolving threats. The test of Nasr is a very important milestone in consolidating Pakistan’s strategic deterrence capability at all levels of the threat spectrum.

This is a new and a very significant development because this latest missile system is in the category of tactical nuclear weapons. It is a low yield battlefield deterrent, which is capable of deterring and inflicting punishment on mechanized forces comprising armoured brigades and divisions. This was made possible because of miniaturizations to smallest level and it forecloses the Indian Army’s options of Cold Start and proactive operations. Indian military used to perceive gaps in the Pakistani side and was obsessed with finding space for limited war under the nuclear umbrella. Thus it was amassing conventional weapons and had developed its “Cold Start” doctrine to be able to deal Pakistan a telling blow before it could retaliate with its nuclear weapons.
India has been testing its Cold Start doctrine in various war games and military exercises including the current Corps level Exercise “Vijayi Bhav”, in the Rajasthan desertand at the same time has been browbeating Pakistan. However, Nasr or “help” which is also the title of one of the Quranic verses, will ably plug that gap and ensure that India is deterred from any such adventurism. With the development of Nasr, Indian planners will now think twice before considering options of limited war. Indians start beating their chests and crying hoarse with their battle cries prematurely. In May 1998 too after conducting nuclear tests at Pokhran, Indian defence planners as well as politicians were so convinced that Pakistan did not have nuclear weapons capability that they became ballistic with their threats and jingoism, forcing Pakistan’s hand in crossing the nuclear threshold and coming out of the closet. Having learnt no lessons, the previous Indian Army Chief, General Deepak Kapoor had announced that “the time has come for teaching Pakistan a lesson”. General Deepak Kapoor had become blinded by the so called success of Indian war games testing Cold Start and thus he had broken into rhetoric.
A few details of Nasr, gleaned from overt sources; it is akin to a guided artillery shell in the form of Surface to Surface Missile (SSM). The Soviets had developed and used various types of such missiles as a propellant and heavily fortified fixed installation target clearance weapon system in the battlefield. Nasr however can successfully target armoured and mechanized columns on the move with nearly pinpoint accuracy. Judging from the test flight video released, Nasr appears to follow a depressed trajectory rather than typical ballistic trajectory which makes a lethal combination, when married to the high maneuverability, high speed and short range; which will cause nightmares and throw a challenge to any Anti Ballistic Missile system.
Comparing Nasr to the earlier versions of Hatf 1B and Hatf 1A, Nasr appears to be more stabilized in its flight. The use of terminal guidance enables the Nasr to be projected as a quick response precision guided ballistic missile with extremely low circular error of probability (CEP) to take the heavily defended targets in a 60 KM radius. Its quick reaction time, low CEP, terminal guidance and lethal warhead makes it far superior to a simple unguided multi barrel rocket launcher system. The test fire and diameter of the warhead suggest that Pakistan has achieved the capability of deploying sub-kiloton yield tactical nuclear warheadappropriate for a sub-kiloton nuclear detonation, which if boosted with 4-5 g of tritium, could yield a 10-20 KT nuclear detonation. When produced in bulk, it will wreak havoc in any battle field scenario, penetrating the fog of war and striking a telling blow upon any belligerent.

{EOP}Afghan Taliban will Support Pak Army Action Against Hakimullah Mehsud Led TTP in NW

PESHAWAR, Pakistan – Crumbling unity among militants could provide the Pakistan army an opening to conduct a limited offensive against a particularly vicious Taliban group in a strategic tribal region, according to analysts and a senior military official.
The target of such an operation in North Waziristan would be the most violent factions within the so-called Pakistani Taliban.

Their leader, Hakimullah Mehsud, is believed to be increasingly isolated after executing a prominent former Pakistani official over the objections of senior militant leaders.
Although Mehsud has been linked to attacks in neighboring Afghanistan, his main focus appears to be in plotting carnage elsewhere in Pakistan. And that makes him a prime target for the army.
Washington has long urged the Pakistanis to launch an operation in North Waziristan, a region overrun by an assortment of militant groups including al-Qaida. Most U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan take place in North Waziristan.
Already there are more than 30,000 soldiers in North Waziristan, and some analysts say the Pakistani army could quickly redeploy to the area. The army has 140,000 soldiers in the tribal regions that border Afghanistan
The Pakistanis, however, are unlikely to target the Haqqani group, which the U.S. considers its greatest enemy in Afghanistan. U.S. Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, complained last week that Pakistan’s secret service maintains links to the Haqqani network. The Haqqanis are Afghan Taliban who control parts of eastern Afghanistan and have bases in North Waziristan.
If the Haqqanis and other militant groups in North Waziristan cooperate with a military assault against the Pakistani Taliban, that would give the army more options.
The fissures among the militants were laid bare in February, when Mehsud released a gruesome video that confirmed the shooting death of former Pakistani spy Sultan Amir Tarar, better known as Col. Imam, according to a senior Pakistan army officer who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.
As Pakistan’s consul general in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province during the Taliban’s rule, Imam was the conduit for money and weapons to the religious movement. A former Pakistani intelligence officer, Imam met regularly with Afghan Taliban’s reclusive leader, Mullah Mohammed Omar. Imam was known to have kept contact with leading Taliban in hiding in Pakistan since the U.S.-led coalition ousted them from power in Afghanistan in 2001.
Mehsud’s group had held Imam for 10 months. The killing confounded Pakistani military officials. They had long believed the
Haqqanis held sway over the myriad of groups — including militants from Uzbekistan, Chechnya and the Middle East — operating in North Waziristan.
“We always thought that the Afghan Taliban had a sway over these groups, but Col. Imam’s killing shows that no one is in control of anyone there,” he said. “His death was a shock for us.”
Taliban members who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they feared being arrested said Mullah Omar made a personal plea for Imam’s life. Also requesting that Imam’s life be spared was Sirajuddin Haqqani, a key leader of the Haqqani group.
The senior military official said Mehsud defied Mullah Omar and Sirajuddin Haqqani and went ahead with the execution after the government and army refused his demands to free several of his imprisoned men.
Not only that, Mehsud boasted on a jihadi website about the killing, according to the SITE Intelligence Group. The same website carried an Urdu language condemnation of Mehsud’s organization, calling those behind the execution “beasts” and “ignoble killers,” SITE said.
The divisions that Imam’s death revealed among the militant groups could provide an opportunity for the army to hit hard at insurgents in the North Waziristan town of Mir Ali, where Mehsud set up bases after fleeing last year’s military assault on his headquarters in neighboring South Waziristan, according to Mahmood Shah, a retired army brigadier and former security point-man for the government in the tribal regions.
Mir Ali is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) from the town of Miram Shah, where the Haqqanis are based.
Tribal elders from North Waziristan, all of whom were too afraid to talk on the record, fearing retribution from militants, said the landscape in their home region has undergone massive upheavals since the army operation in South Waziristan.
They said Mehsud and his men were among the most troublesome of the militants, largely because of their affiliation with criminal gangs.
Mehsud and his followers are also among the richest, having accumulated wealth through kidnappings for ransom, thefts and extortion, said a tribal elder from Shawal district of North Waziristan.
Mehsud’s close affiliation with Lashkar-e-Janghvi, a Punjabi-based Sunni Muslim militant group blamed for dozens of attacks against minority Shiite Muslims, has also provided him with a reservoir of suicide bombers. They have carried out dozens of attacks throughout Pakistan and in Afghanistan.
U.S. officials who did not want to be identified because of the sensitivity of the subject said the Jordanian suicide bomber who killed six CIA operatives in Afghanistan’s Khost province in December 2009 was trained by Lashkar-e-Janghvi’s Qari Hussain, who was also a member of Mehsud’s group. Hussain was killed in a drone attack but was quickly replaced by a cousin and fellow tribesman of Mehsud’s.
Mehsud has overseen the Pakistani Taliban ever since his predecessor, Baitullah Mehsud, was killed in a CIA missile strike on Aug. 5, 2009. Hakimullah Mehsud is affiliated with the Taliban’s most violent factions and has survived U.S. and Pakistani attempts on his life.
In recent years the United States has identified Mir Ali as the site of a reconstituted al-Qaida. Also on the run in Mir Ali is Ilyas Kashmiri, a confidante of Mehsud’s. The United States this month put a $5 million bounty on Kashmiri’s head.

{EOP}PAF ready to tackle aggression - Chief of Air Staff

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has made it clear that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is ready to tackle external and internal threats, being faced by the country. “We are aware of confronting internal and external threats but we have to tackle them through modern war strategy and limited resources”, Rao said while addressing the graduation ceremony held at Pakistan Air Force Academy here in Risalpur as chief guest. The successful operation against (CIA backed) extremists is ample evidence that country’s armed forces are ready to meet any challenge, he said. Pakistan, he said, does not wish to enter into arms race. Pakistan is a peace-loving country and wants to live in the region, with honour and dignity. Aggression of any kind from any side would be met with full force by the armed forces of Pakistan, he said.

{EOP}Pakistan Navy buses attacked - Several including Lieutenant martyred

At least five persons were killed while more than 20 were injured in an early morning remote controlled bomb attack on Pakistan Navy’s bus near naval residential area of Karsaz here in Karachi on Thursday, police said. According to reports, a powerful explosion took place at about 8:00am when a staff bus, carrying 8 naval officials of Pakistan Navy moved out from PNS Mehran. As a result, a Lieutenant of Pakistan Navy and a passerby motor-bike rider were killed on the spot while three injured succumbed to injuries in the hospital. More than 20 also were injured in the attack. After the incident, the injured were shifted to PNS Rahat Hospital, PNS Shifa and Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Center. The hospital sources informed that few among the injured were in critical condition. Those who martyred in today’s bomb blast were included Sabir Marwat, Mirza Ramzan, Muhammad Yamin, Imtiaz and a civilian lady doctor. Two other vehicles traveling on the road in usual traffic were also destroyed in the incident as they collided into each other after the blast.Glasses of many nearby houses were also damaged with the intensity of the blast. Heavy contingents of Pakistan Navy, police and rangers rushed to the blast site and cordoned off the area. Senior Superintendent of Police and head of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Raja Umar Khatab has said that the bomb was planted at roadside and when Pak, Navy bus reached close, it was blasted by remote control device.

Reports from military sources confirm that these blasts were carried out in reaction to Pakistan COAS' statement in which he lauded Pakistan Army's military campaign against the CIA backed TTP and said that Pakistan Army had broken the back of terrorists. Military sources revealed that the timing of this attack is crucial and matches perfectly with the NATO backed attack on Pakistan's western border in Angoor Adda and Datta Khel where several mortars were deliberately fired on Pakistani check posts by terrorist invaders. The ultimate evident aim of these attacks on Pakistan Navy and Pakistan itself is to pressurize Pakistan to initiate the operation against so called "terrorists" in North Waziristan (The Haqqanis). Whereas Pakistan Army has clearly refused to carry out any such operation as Pakistan's COAS General Ashfaq visited the tribal agency and vowed to defend tribes at all cost.

{EOP}Pakistan Attacked by NATO in Angoor Adda, Datta Khel - Several terrorist invaders killed in response by Pak-Army

Reports from Peshawar say that  1  Pakistani soldier was martyred and  7  more Pakistani soldiers and locals were injured when NATO & Afghan puppet forces attacked the Pakistani border check post in South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda area on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.  50 shops and several houses are reported to have been destroyed as well.

Pakistani security forces retaliated the attack on the Pak-Afghan border and according to NNI reports, 12 NATO & Afghan puppet soldiers were killed as a result.Exchange of fire at the site of the clash was ongoing between Pakistani and Afghan forces. However, no official statement confirming the incident was issued by the shameless Pakistani traitor government. Moreover, an AP report quoted officials as saying that NATO and Pakistan forces traded artillery fire in two places along the border. In one incident, a Pakistani official said two soldiers were wounded on Wednesday in the Angoor Adda. Villager Ahmadullah Wazir said several shops were damaged.

According to detailed reports, NATO and Afghan puppet troops violated Pakistan's sovereignty by crossing Pakistan's border twice in 24 hours yesterday. Atif Rehman, the political agent of South Waziristan confirmed the attack and said that 70 mortars were fired by NATO and Afghan puppet forces on the Pakistani check post and as a result, the Angoor Adda market was immediately deserted. According to other media reports verified by locals, NATO and Afghan puppet forces also violated Pakistan's sovereignty by illegally crossing Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Datta Khel district however 8 NATO / Afghan puppet soldiers were killed when Pakistan Army retaliated.

Pakistan Army spokesman (Radio Monitoring) has said that NATO / Afghan puppet forces blindly fired dozens or mortars inside Pakistan which has martyred 1 Pakistan Army soldier and injured 2 whereas the NATO / Afghan puppets fired several mortars inside civilian territory (their benchmark cowardly war moves) which damaged the Angoor Adda market and martyred several PAKISTANI civilians. Pakistan Army has immediately demanded for a flag meeting. Analysts say that things are going to go from bad to worse in the coming days with NATO terrorist invaders now openly fighting against Pakistan along with Afghanistan.
