Medical miracle of the Glorious Qur'an

Allah the Almighty said; “And We send down of the Quran, that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, and the unbelievers it causes not except loss.” (17: 82)

Quran restores soul calmness:

The results of researches conducted over a group of volunteers from USZ who were subject to a recitation of the Holy Quran were striking. A trace of a tranquilizing effect was recorded at a whole rate of 97%. Although many of these volunteers do not know Arabic, yet involuntary physiological changes that led notably to alleviate the acuity of tension they had before were observed in their nervous systems. Furthermore, an experiment of EEG during Quran rehearsal revealed that while listening to Quran, the encephalic waves moved from the fast pattern of vigilance (12-13) wave/ second to the slow pattern (8-18) wave/ second; indicating the state of deep calmness. Non-Arabic speaking persons felt reassured, quiet, and complacent during the process of listening to Quranic verses, in spite of their inability to understand the meanings. This is one of the miracles of the Holy Quran. The Prophet revealed that miracle when saying;

“No people assembled in one of the houses of Allah (mosques), and recite and study the Book of Allah (among themselves), except that tranquility would prevail over them, and mercy would encompass them, and the angels would surround them, and Allah would make a mention of them in the presence of those near Him.”

The Glorious Qur'an

A healing from diseases:

It is commonly known that Quran removes the causes of tension and cover the soul with tranquility and complacency. But was that effect of Quran limited to the souls only? When Allah says; “And We send down of the Quran, that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers..” (17: 82), then how could the Quran be a healing for the bodies? It is medically asserted that tension and worries lead to a deficiency in the immunity of human body in the face of all diseases. The more the psychological and nervous condition of man is not stable, the more the chances to face the invasion of diseases. Hence, the explanation becomes crystal clear- the Quran is a healing for bodies as it is a healing for the souls and spirits. The Quran regains the balance of nervous and psychological systems for the believer who constantly recites and listens to it, and contemplates its meaning, thus leading to increase his bodily immunity and safeguard his internal defenses. Man becomes in constant safety against the penetration of diseases. With the Quranic prevailing luminous powers, all microbes and germs attacking the body in consecutive waves are resisted.

Dr. Ahmed El Kadi conducted a research in USZ on three groups of Americans who do not speak or understand Arabic. He connected them to instruments for measuring biomedical functions such as blood pressure, heart pulses, EEG, myography, and sweat test. He recited some Quranic verses for the first group, and ordinary sentences of everyday Arabic for the second group while the third group was a control group resting in a state of relaxation. He found that the physiological changes for the first group listening to Quran recitation have more significantly improved than the other two groups (These results were announced by the Islamic Organization for Medical Science). Verily said the Almighty Allah; “If We had sent down the Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled, split asunder out of the fear of Allah. And those similitude- We strike them for men; haply they will reflect.” (59: 21)

{EOP}Kashmiris refuse to budge...

NEW DELHI (INP) – All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has said that the people of the Indian-occupied Kashmir will continue with their freedom movement till their right to self-determination is accorded.
“The people of the IHK will continue their peaceful move titled ‘Quit Kashmir Movement’ against the Indian occupation till they are not accorded with their right to self-determination,” he said while talking the international media at his residence here on Friday.

Geelani lashed out at talks, saying: “Unless India shows flexibility, negotiations would be out of question even illogical.”
He recalled Indian brutalities, saying that Indian troops killed hundreds of innocents, raped dozens of girls, detained thousands under draconian laws such as PSA.He called upon India for immediate and unconditional release of all the detained Kashmiris, including school and college students, who were arrested by Indian armed forces on false charges.
He repeated his six-point proposal for solution to Kashmir dispute, saying “India will have to repeal black laws such as PSA, withdraw its armed forces, punish the guilty officers and personnel of Indian army, release illegally detained Kashmir leaders and activists.
Ali Geelani , in an interview, has also complained that while the Kashmiri freedom struggle has parallels with the revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, it was not given the same media attention in the West. He did not mention it, but this is because the West continues to be fascinated by the prospects of India as a huge market, and also as the world’s most populous democracy, and thus does not see its flaws, even though these are very obvious, and which include Kashmir. Kashmir is the issue on which India almost immediately after its independence, went into violation with UN Security Council Resolutions, and remains non-compliant with them.
Syed Ali Geelani also regretted that the Egyptian Army facilitated its people, while Kashmiris were still engaged in a struggle against occupation. Kashmir remains in illegal occupation of India, and the struggle against these occupying forces is qualitatively different from that by the Arab peoples against their rulers. It is therefore significant that Mr Geelani also expressed the need for the movement in Kashmir to set its targets. A logical target is the exercise of that right of self-determination denied to the Kashmiri people since 1947, first by the Maharaja of Kashmir, and then by India itself, and for which the best means is the UN-supervised plebiscite which India itself had accepted. However, before that goal is achieved, the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination must achieve international recognition.

{EOP}Link Between CIA And Terrorism In Pakistan

How a growing number of American commentators are concluding that the United States is closely working with the same terror groups it publicly condemns, using them to silently attack its Pakistani ally.
MIKE WHITNEY
WASHINGTON, DC—When CIA agent Raymond Davis gunned down two Pakistani civilians in broad daylight on a crowded street in Lahore, he probably never imagined that the entire Washington establishment would spring to his defense. But that’s precisely what happened. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mike Mullen, John Kerry, Leon Panetta and a number of other US bigwigs have all made appeals on Davis’s behalf. None of these stalwart defenders of “the rule of law” have shown a speck of interest in justice for the victims or of even allowing the investigation to go forward so they could know what really happened. Oh, no. What Clinton and the rest want, is to see their man Davis packed onto the next plane to Langley so he can play shoot-’em-up someplace else in the world.

Does Clinton know that after Davis shot his victims 5 times in the back, he calmly strode back to his car, grabbed his camera, and photographed the dead bodies? Does she know that the two so-called “diplomats” who came to his rescue in a Land Rover (which killed a passerby) have been secretly spirited out of the country so they won’t have to appear in court? Does she know that the families of the victims are now being threatened and attacked to keep them from testifying against Davis? Here’s a clip from Thursday’s edition of The Nation:
“Three armed men forcibly gave poisonous pills to Muhammad Sarwar, the uncle of Shumaila Kanwal, the widow of Fahim shot dead by Raymond Davis, after barging into his house in Rasool Nagar, Chak Jhumra.
Sarwar was rushed to Allied Hospital in critical condition where doctors were trying to save his life till early Thursday morning. The brother of Muhammad Sarwar told The Nation that three armed men forced their entry into the house after breaking the windowpane of one of the rooms. When they broke the glass, Muhammad Sarwar came out. The outlaws started beating him up.
The other family members, including women and children, coming out for his rescue, were taken hostage and beaten up. The three outlaws then took everyone hostage at gunpoint and forced poisonous pills down Sarwar’s throat.” (“Shumaila’s uncle forced to take poisonous pills”, The Nation)
Good show, Hillary. We’re all about the rule of law in the good old USA.
But why all the intrigue and arm-twisting? Why has the State Department invoked the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations to make its case that Davis is entitled to diplomatic immunity? If Davis is innocent, then he has nothing to worry about, right? Why not let the trial go forward and stop reinforcing the widely-held belief that Davis is a vital cog in the US’s clandestine operations in Pakistan?
The truth is that Davis had been photographing sensitive installations and madrassas for some time, the kind of intelligence gathering that spies do when scouting-out prospective targets. Also, he’d been in close contact with members of terrorist organizations, which suggests a link between the CIA and terrorist incidents in Pakistan. Here’s an excerpt from Wednesday’s The Express Tribune:
“His cell phone has revealed contacts with two ancillaries of al Qaeda in Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Taliban of Pakistan (TTP) and sectarian Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), which has led to the public conclusion that he was behind terrorism committed against Pakistan’s security personnel and its people ….This will strike people as America in cahoots with the Taliban and al Qaeda against the state of Pakistan targeting, as one official opined, Pakistan’s nuclear installations.” (“Raymond Davis: The plot thickens, The Express Tribune)
“Al Qaeda”? The CIA is working with “ancillaries of al Qaeda in Pakistan”? No wonder the US media has been keeping a wrap on this story for so long.
Naturally, most Pakistanis now believe that the US is colluding with terrorists to spread instability, weaken the state, and increase its power in the region. But isn’t that America’s M.O. everywhere?
Also, many people noticed that US drone attacks suddenly stopped as soon as Davis was arrested. Was that a coincidence? Not likely. Davis was probably getting coordinates from his new buddies in the tribal hinterland and then passing them along to the Pentagon. The drone bombings are extremely unpopular in Pakistan. More then 1400 people have been killed since August 2008, and most of them have been civilians.
And, there’s more. This is from (Pakistan’s) The Nation:
“A local lawyer has moved a petition in the court of Additional District and Sessions … contending that the accused (Davis)… was preparing a map of sensitive places in Pakistan through the GPS system installed in his car. He added that mobile phone SIMs, lethal weapons, and video cameras were recovered from the murdere-accused on January 27, 2011.” (“Davis mapped Pakistan targets court told”, The Nation)
So, Davis’s GPS chip was being used to identify targets for drone attacks in the tribal region. Most likely, he was being assisted on the other end by recruits or members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban.
A lot of extravagant claims have been made about what Davis was up to, much of which is probably just speculation. One report which appeared on ANI news service is particularly dire, but produces little evidence to support its claims. Here’s an excerpt:
“Double murder-accused US official Raymond Davis has been found in possession of top-secret CIA documents, which point to him or the feared American Task Force 373 (TF373) operating in the region, providing Al-Qaeda terrorists with “nuclear fissile material” and “biological agents,” according to a report.
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) is warning that the situation on the sub-continent has turned “grave” as it appears that open warfare is about to break out between Pakistan and the United States, The European Union Times reports…..The most ominous point in this SVR report is “Pakistan’s ISI stating that top-secret CIA documents found in Davis’s possession point to his, and/or TF373, providing to al Qaeda terrorists “nuclear fissile material” and “biological agents”, which they claim are to be used against the United States itself in order to ignite an all-out war in order to re-establish the West’s hegemony over a Global economy that is warned is just months away from collapse,” the paper added. (“CIA Spy Davis was giving nuclear bomb material to Al Qaeda, says report”, ANI)
Although there’s no way to prove that this is false, it seems like a bit of a stretch. But that doesn’t mean that what Davis was up to shouldn’t be taken seriously. Quite the contrary. If Davis was working with Tehreek-e-Taliban, (as alleged in many reports) then we can assume that the war on terror is basically a ruse to advance a broader imperial agenda. According to Sify News, the president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, believes this to be the case. Here’s an excerpt:
“Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US envoy to Afghanistan, once brushed off Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari’s claim, that the US was “arranging” the (suicide) attacks by Pakistani Taliban inside his country, as ‘madness’, and was of the view that both Zardari and Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who believed in this US conspiracy theory, were “dysfunctional” leaders.
The account of Zardari’s claim about the US’ hand in the attacks has been elaborately reproduced by US journalist Bob Woodward, on Page 116 of his famous book ‘Obama’s Wars,’ The News reported.
Woodward’s account goes like this: “One evening during the trilateral summit (in Washington, between Obama, Karzai and Zardari) Zardari had dinner with Zalmay Khalilzad, the 58-year-old former US ambassador to Afghanistan, Iraq and the UN, during the Bush presidency.
“Zardari dropped his diplomatic guard. He suggested that one of the two countries was arranging the attacks by the Pakistani Taliban inside his country: India or the US. Zardari didn’t think India could be that clever, but the US could. Karzai had told him the US was behind the attacks, confirming the claims made by the Pakistani ISI.”
“Mr President,” Khalilzad said, “what would we gain from doing this? You explain the logic to me.”
“This was a plot to destabilize Pakistan, Zardari hypothesized, so that the US could invade and seize its nuclear weapons. He could not explain the rapid expansion in violence otherwise. And the CIA had not pursued the leaders of the Pakistani Taliban, a group known as Tehreek-e-Taliban or TTP that had attacked the government. TTP was also blamed for the assassination of Zardari’s wife, Benazir Bhutto.” (“Pakistan President says CIA Involved in Plot to Destabilize Country and Seize Nukes”, Sify News)
Zardari’s claim will sound familiar to those who followed events in Iraq. Many people are convinced that the only rational explanation for the wave of bombings directed at civilians was that the violence was caused by those groups who stood to gain from a civil war.
And who might that be?
Despite the Obama administration’s efforts to derail the investigation, the case against Davis is going forward. Whether he is punished or not is irrelevant. This isn’t about Davis anyway. It’s a question of whether the US is working hand-in-hand with the very organizations that it publicly condemns in order to advance its global agenda. If that’s the case, then the war on terror is a fraud.

Supreme Court blasts Government's criminal silence over Balochistan's critical situation

The Supreme Court on Friday observed that there was complete breakdown in the largest province of the country, as even the convoys of Balochistan Governor, Chief Secretary and IGP were fired upon, while the lives of ordinary citizens were not safe. "The provincial government under the Constitution is bound to maintain law and order and at the same time the Federal government cannot stay back from its responsibilities particularly in prevailing situation of Balochistan", it added. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Muhammad Sair Ali and Justice Ghulam Rabbani was hearing a Constitutional petition of President Balochistan High Court Bar Association (BHCBA) against the Federation and the law-enforcement agencies. The Federal government was aware of the situation in Balochistan but has not taken concrete steps, the bench observed.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan
President BHCBA Hadi Shakeel Ahmed has made Inspector General Police (IGP), Balochistan, IGs Frontier Corps Balochistan and Levies, heads of three top intelligence agencies, Federal government through Ministry of Interior and provincial government through Chief Secretary and Home Secretary as respondents. The court noted with grave concern that the Federal government has so far not even filed report over the worsening law and order situation in the province. Attorney General Maulvi Anwar-ul-Haq has been directed to take up the matter directly with the Prime Minister and put up his reaction on the record. The Federal and the provincial governments have been directed to protect the life and properties of citizens in Balochistan. "Notices were again issued to Federation through Secretary Ministry of Interior, IGs FC and Levies and DG Military Intelligence as they failed to submit their replies". The court ordered them to file their replies within three days.

The Chief Justice said there were 110 cases of missing persons and the target killings were going on in the province. Balochistan is a sensitive province but nobody was bothered, he said. Justice Sair Ali remarked that there seem to be no writ of government and total erosion of power in Balochistan. The law-enforcement agencies seem to be helpless. He said according to Balochistan government report the IGP and Home Secretary Balochistan themselves have written;"We can’t do anything because we are helpless". Justice Rabbani said: "The situation in Balochistan has become very serious and it could spread all over the country". The time has come to deal with the matter with iron hand, as mere issuance of statements and producing reports before the courts was not enough, he added.

Earlier, Hadi Shakeel, the petitioner in the case, informed that nobody including officials of law-enforcement agencies, Railway tracks, roads, bridges were safe in the province. He said the provincial Governor, Chief Secretary and Inspector General Police were fired upon. There was unrest among the legal fraternity as within last three days three lawyers Agha Zahid, Saleem Akhtar and Tahir were kidnapped. He said around 5,000 persons were missing. Amanullah Kunrani told that the Senators and MNAs have stopped visiting their constituencies. He said DCO Jhal Magsi was kidnapped and later murdered. He said time has come that even traffic police were not feeling safe ,therefore, they were not doing their duties. Additional Advocate General Azam Khattak informed that so many agencies besides the intelligence were operating in the province, adding, there were some elements that bent upon destroying peace of Balochistan. The hearing was adjourned till March 2, 2011.

{EOP}Indian Deception: Past, Present & Future

Zuhayer Tahir | PKKH Exclusive
On, 14th February, the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh addressed the Indian assembly and said that he wanted to resolve all outstanding disputes with Pakistan and he hoped that Pakistan will grasp India’s hand of friendship[I]. Alas! If only this was not a predictable routine of the Indians. In the English language there is a saying ‘Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.’
Pakistan has been falling for this Indian deceptive routine since its creation in 1947 when at the time Pakistan was fighting a war over Jammu & Kashmir with India. India went into United Nations (UN) to beg for Cease fire in Jammu & Kashmir and assured a peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute. Pakistan honored the UN resolution and till date, even after 63 years and 27 more UN resolutions regarding Jammu & Kashmir dispute[II] [III], no hope for the people of Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir can be seen.

This was not the first time that Indians had talked of peace with their forked tongue. Pakistan wants peace in the region but India only comes to talk of peace whenever it in an inferior position than Pakistan and needs time to regroup, otherwise it rejects any attempt for peace[IV]. Be it in 1997 with Indian Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda when India was facing a political crisis that threatened the government[V] or be it Lal Bahadur Shastri who died in Tashkent (USSR) in 1966, while negotiating peace talks with Pakistan [VI] after Pakistan has got the upper hand in the 1965 War. In 1998 when India had conducted its nuclear tests at Pokhran its attitude and language towards Pakistan had changed. L.K. Advani Deputy Prime Minister at that time issued a public threat to the effect that now that New Delhi possessed the bomb, its neighbor should watch its step in Kashmir[VII]. But later when Pakistan responded with its own nuclear blasts the tough talk of Indian leaders seems to have faded to a whisper[VIII].The reasons for this silence were reviled later on by K Santhanam, senior Indian nuclear scientist[XIII].
For most people the invitation for peace talks to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif[IX] and President Pervez Musharraf[X] by Ex-Indian PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the leader of a party whose supporters are well known for destroying Mosques and massacring Muslims in random spasms of terrorism, was surprising given that Vajpayee was also a “Volunteer” with RSS, a Hindu terrorist organization prominent for its anti-Muslim rhetoric and slogan ‘Hindustan for the Hindus’[XI] [XII]. But the Indian mindset is the same; they opted for peace with Pakistan because Pakistan had more credible and advanced nuclear program. The Indians knew they had no credible nuclear program, which was later confessed by none other than K Santhanam, senior scientist and DRDO representative at Pokhran II[XIII]. The nuclear scientist admitted that the only thermonuclear device tested was a “fizzle”. In nuclear terms, when a test fails to meet the desired yield it is described as a fizzle.
In 2005 India and Pakistan both had termed the peace dialogue ‘irreversible’[XIV]. But few years later Indians postponed[XV] the peace talk in 2008 on the allegations that Pakistan was involved in supporting terror attacks in India. But, investigations have showed that India’s own spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), its army in cooperation with extremist parties like RSS and BJP were involved in the terrorist activities such as blasts in Samjhota express, Ajmeer Sharif, Makkah masjid and many more[XVI]. Pakistani defense analysts like Hamid Gul [XXIX], Zaid Hamid [XXX] have maintained till date that terror attacks in India are an inside job and Indian media has confirmed their analysis. This was also speculated by many Indians that the Mumbai drama[XVII] was staged to kill two birds with one stone i.e. killing the Indian chief of the Anti-Terrorist Squad Hemant Karkare, who had proved links for terror activities with India’s own spy agency and blaming all the terror activities on Pakistan[XVIII] without any proof[XIX] to damage Pakistans image in the world. Indian political leaders like Devendra Yadav[XX], Lalu Prasad[XX] and A R Antulay[XX] and reporters like Amaresh Misra[XXXI] within India have raised similar doubts regarding Mumbai drama.
Indian negative attitude towards peace is easily visible when we study the relations of Indians with regional countries. India has disputes with almost all their neighboring countries Nepal[XXI] [XXII], Sri Lanka[XXIII], Pakistan, China, Bangladesh[XXIV], not to mention the numerous ethnic, cultural, religious and border disputes within India[XXV]. Indians also admit to creating and sponsoring the terrorist group LTTE in Sri lanka which waged terror for more than 30 years[XXVI]. Pakistani Police, Armed Forces, Intelligence agencies have found concrete proofs of Indian involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan[XXVII] and the proofs have been shared with the Indian government.
Indian Attitude is clear. Whenever Pakistan has the upper edge they want peace and ‘Aman Ki Asha’ but as soon as Pakistan starts to get its hopes up the saffron terrorists stab Pakistan in the back. India has only come to the table because the world found out that it is Hindu terrorists who are conducting terror attacks in India, Pakistan[XXVIII] and it has lost its grounds for the allegations in which it repeatedly blamed ISI and Pakistan for the attacks.
We advise the Pakistani Government, Pakistani Foreign Office and Pakistani Media to keep this deceitful past of Hindus in prospective, expose the Indians, for the terrorists they are, on international forums[XXVIII] and start to see through the lies, deceit of the Hindu Brahman.

{EOP}Pakistan Arrests US Security Contractor as Rift With CIA Deepens

ISI tells American agency to unmask all its covert operatives after arrest of Aaron DeHaven in Peshawar, over visa expiry.

Pakistani authorities have arrested a US government security contractor amid a worsening spy agency row between the countries, with Pakistani intelligence calling on the Americans to “come clean” about its network of covert operatives in the country.
The arrest came at the start of the murder trial of another American held in Pakistan, the CIA agent Raymond Davis.
Peshawar police arrested Aaron DeHaven, a contractor who recently worked for the US embassy in Islamabad, saying that his visa had expired.
Little was known about DeHaven except that his firm, which also has offices in Afghanistan and Dubai, is staffed by retired US military and defence personnel who boast of direct experience in the “global war on terror”.
It was unclear whether his arrest was linked to escalating tensions between the Inter-Services Intelligence and the CIA, triggered by the trial of Davis, who appeared in handcuffs at a brief court hearing in a Lahore jail.
The 36-year-old former special forces soldier, whose status as a spy was revealed by the Guardian, refused to sign a chargesheet presented to him by the prosecution, which says he murdered two men at a traffic junction on January 27.
Davis instead repeated his claim of diplomatic immunity – a claim supported by President Barack Obama, who called him “our diplomat”.
The press and public were excluded from the hearing in Kot Lakhpat jail, where Pakistani officials have taken unusual measures to ensure Davis’s security amid a public clamour for his execution.
The furore has also triggered the most serious crisis between the ISI and the CIA since the 9/11 attacks. A senior ISI official told the Guardian that the CIA must “ensure there are no more Raymond Davises or his ilk” if it is to repair the tattered relationship of trust.
“They need to come clean, tell us who they are and what they are doing. They need to stop doing things behind our back,” he said. There are “two or three score” covert US operatives roaming Pakistan, “if not more”, he said.
CIA spokesman George Little said that agency ties to the ISI “have been strong over the years, and when there are issues to sort out, we work through them. That’s the sign of a healthy partnership”.
Pakistani civilian officials warned that the ISI was amplifying fallout from the Davis crisis through selective media leaks to win concessions from the US.
“They’re playing the media; in private they’re much more deferential to the Americans,” said a senior government official, who added that the two agencies had weathered previous disagreements in private.
The crisis has sucked in the military top brass from both countries. On Tuesday, a Pakistani delegation led by General Ashfaq Kayani met US generals, led by Admiral Mike Mullen, at a luxury resort in Oman to hammer out the issues.
The US stressed that it “did not want the US-Pakistan relationship to go into a freefall under media and domestic pressures”, according to an account of the meeting obtained by Foreign Policy magazine.
The ISI official agreed that future co-operation was vital. “They need us; we need them,” he said. “But we need to move forward in the right direction, based on equality and respect.”
The media furore over Davis has fuelled scrutiny of other American security officials in Pakistan and their visa arrangements, and may have led police to Aaron DeHaven in Peshawar on Friday.
DeHaven runs a company named Catalyst Services which, according to its website, is staffed by retired military and defence department personnel who have “played some role in major world events” including the collapse of the Soviet Union, the military mission to Somalia and the “global war on terror”. Services offered include “full-service secure residences”, protective surveillance and armed security.
One prospective customer who met DeHaven last year described him as a small, slightly-built man, who wore glasses and had broad knowledge of Pakistani politics. DeHaven said he had lived in Kandahar, Afghanistan, for one year, had married a Pakistani woman along the border with Afghanistan, and spoke Pashto fluently.
He said he moved his base from Peshawar to Islamabad last year over suspicions that he worked for Blackwater, the controversial US military contracting firm.
His business partner is listed on company documents as Hunter Obrikat with an address in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Guardian was unable to contact either men at listed numbers in Pakistan, Afghanistan, the US and Dubai.
US embassy spokeswoman Courtney Beale said DeHaven was “not a direct employee of the US government” but added that details could not be confirmed until a consular officer had met him. The arrest is another sign of brittle relations between the two countries.
US officials in Washington argue that Davis is a registered diplomat who should be immediately released under the provisions of the Vienna convention. But that plea has fallen on deaf ears in Pakistan, where the papers have been filled with lurid accounts of the spy’s alleged activities, including unlikely accounts of him working with the Taliban and al-Qaida.
The US has also struck some blows in the covert public relations war. After a lull of three weeks, the CIA restarted its drone campaign in the tribal belt last Monday, with near-daily attacks on militant targets since then. “It’s their way of showing who’s in charge,” said a senior Pakistani official.
And at the Oman meeting, Mullen warned Kayani he would apply “other levers” to the Pakistanis if a solution to the case was not found, the official added.
Since Davis’s CIA status was revealed, US officials have told Pakistani officials that their best hope is in offering compensation to the families of the two men Davis shot in Lahore. Religious parties, however, have pressured relatives not to accept money.
Meanwhile, the Zardari government says it will settle the issue of Davis’s diplomatic status at a court hearing scheduled for 14 March.

{EOP}CIA may target Pakistani diplomants globally

WASHINGTON (online) Suffering irreparable loss after blowing up of Raymond Davis’ cover in Lahore, the CIA is contemplating on a tit-for-tat trapping or targeting Pakistani counterparts serving as diplomats abroad. Diplomatic sources told Online that they had noticed vibes clearly indicating level of frustration and annoyance especially at the CIA upon Islamabad’s constant denial to release Davis on blanket immunity. As per sources, the situation is proving to be the loss of not just the cover of an agent but also that of a key asset in the CIA. “It is unlikely that they (American intelligence apparatus) would let it go without returning it to the Pakistani counterparts one way or the other”, the sources said.

CIA , the gang of international terrorists
“Easy prey of this revenge design of the Americans could be Pakistani intelligence staff serving abroad chiefly in USZ, Europe, and Afghanistan”, the sources said. "White House as well as State Department has already cancelled all official invitations to Hussain Haqqani. All the USZ Administration outfits in the capital are also under instructions to seek clearance from the White to House before interacting with Mr Haqqani even for official urgencies”, the sources added.
