Civil unrest on the rise in Egypt

USZ's puppet regimes are failing awful gradually and eventually. The latest evident is that of the demonstrators calling for economic and political reforms broke through police barriers and began marching in Cairo’s streets. Protesters gathered outside the Supreme Court in downtown Cairo and held large signs that read “Tunisia is the solution” amid massive police deployment, an AFP correspondent said.
Chanting “Down with Mubarak” in reference to Egypt's puppet President Hosni Mubarak who has been in power for three decades — they broke through several police cordons and began marching towards Tahrir Square, in scenes seldom witnessed in Egypt.

Huge crowds gather on the streets of Cairo as protests occur.

Others shouted “Tunisia is not better than Egypt” as the crowds began to swell. A security official told AFP that at least 20,000 to 30,000 police had been mobilized in the center of the capital alone, and that the area housing the interior ministry had been sealed off.

American-made F-35 jets seriously defective

The USZ Defense Department reports on the serious deficiencies and technical shortcomings of the USZ-made F-35 warplanes, some makes of which are on IsraHelli shopping list. The report, compiled by Pentagon's Operational Test and Evaluation Directorate, pointed to problems with the F-35 Lightning II's handling and avionics among other things, reported the USZ-based newsweekly Defense News. The dissatisfaction has prompted Lockheed Martin, the American manufacturer, to recurrently delay testing on the aircraft -- which are also known as Joint Strike Fighter -- said the IsraHelli media network Arutz Sheva's website said on Saturday. The United States of Zionism is IsraHell's closest puppet ally. Washington annually provides Tel Aviv with USZD 3 billion in military aid.

An F-35 Lightning II warplane

Amid the USZ insistence on perfection of the IsraHell-headed military vehicles and hardware, reports have pointed to Washington's lack of commitment to other recipients of its military assistance. The Wall Street Journal reported in August that Washington is to reduce the combat capabilities of 84 F-15s it is to sell to Saudi Arabia. The move was in responses to IsraHelli officials' alleged unease with the size of the deal and claims by IsraHelli security sources that the Saudis "might turn against us", using the fighters. The USZ Congress has also decided to block some USZD 100 million in aid to Lebanon's military, though the country is under the threat of renewed offensives by Tel Aviv, which has already launched several wars on Lebanon as well as innocent women and children of Gaza Strip and West Bank in Palestine.

{EOP}Memoirs - From Indus to Oxus; Part 1 BY ZAID HAMID

Experiences, Observations and Travels in the Melting Pot of History

So it all begins!

It was July 1991. Standing on the Afghan bank of Oxus River, in cool whispering breeze, I could see the barren grey mountains of Tajikistan on the other side. In the bright morning sunshine and beyond the muddy water of Oxus or Amo Darya, I could see the Russian watch towers piercing the skyline. They must be watching us too, I wondered.

History moved in front of my eyes like a fast forwarded tape. Though Islamic armies had first crossed Oxus around 670 AD, the region was still considered the extreme boundary of another world in the writings of the oriental Muslim historians. Oxus wasNehr, meaning the riverin Muslim history and all Muslim Central Asia was Ma wara-ul-Nehr, what lies behind the river, a description to represent the territories on the very edge of the Muslim civilization when seen from Muslim heartland in Middle East and Arabia. For centuries, armies, civilizations and ideologies have crossed the Nehr, from both sides. But after the initial conquest by Islamic armies; mostly the flow had been towards the South directed towards Afghanistan and India.

I was here because the last of the invading armies had just been pushed back across to where it came from. An event of historic proportion had occurred. The three hundred years of Russian expansion had come to a halt in Afghanistan and a process of roll back had begun. The entire central Asia was in an upheaval against their former colonisers and one after another new States were declaring independence. Now I stood on the banks of Amo Darya, watched the defeated army protecting the borders of yet another occupied land from a possible reverse invasion. But the process of retreat was irrevocable. Just to give a helping hand, I picked up my rifle; a Russian captured AK-47, aimed at the mountains beyond the river and fired. I felt a rush of adrenaline in my body as the cracking gunshot echoed across the valley. An emotional but symbolic contribution to the freedom of Ma Wara-ul-nehr. All central Asian States were in the process of declaring freedom from Soviet control. Soviet adventure in Afghanistan had turned out to be a disaster of historic proportions for Kremlin. Couple of months later on 9 September 1991, Tajikistan declared independence.

Standing in that bright morning sunshine, I reflected on the events which had brought me here. It had been a long, adventurous and treacherous journey for me to get to this point. For the last five years, I was associated with the Afghan resistance, from fighting as an ordinary foot soldier in the fiercest of battles to becoming a part time doctor, journalist, media consultant, photographer, technical assistant, propagandist and even a negotiator with Pakistan government on behalf of the resistance. My seemingly insane and adventurous travels into the killing fields of Afghanistan had taken me from Paktika in South to the extreme limits of Oxus on the border of Central Asia. I saw the making of history in the melting pot of Afghanistan. Witnessed millions of hungry and displaced refugees and vast empty spaces of wastelands which were once bustling villages and lush fields. Saw the heroic resistance of ragtag fighters and also saw the brute savagery and ruthless firepower of a modern super power. Saw many defeats and many victories, much bloodshed and many sufferings. I am a witness to epic tales of valour as well as disgusting incidents of treachery, betrayal and treason. Also saw the time when Mujahideen had actually begun to lose and also witnessed the Soviet withdrawal few years later. Had the opportunity of seeing and interacting with major Afghan Mujahideen leaders and commanders and with the brigades of Ansars, the international Muslim volunteer corps, which had come to join and assist the resistance. I also interacted with power players in Pakistan army responsible for inflicting the “death by a thousand cuts” strategy against the Soviets. I am a witness to their victories and to their failures.

My job was not done yet. There was still a long road ahead of me. Kabul was still in the hands of Communists and more important than that, Pakistan had begun to lose in Afghanistan after supporting the resistance for over a decade. Islamabad had begun to lose grip on the resistance once Russians left. Mujahideen groups which had remained somewhat contained under a loose alliance during the Soviet occupation began to pull in opposing directions once Soviets left. Personal, tribal and ethnic rivalries began to take precedence over common military threat which was now seen to be diminishing. While communist regime remained in power in Kabul and continued to survive as well, each Mujahideen group especially the two powerful ones of Hekmatyar and Ahmad Shah Masood planned independent wars to take the city ahead of the other. US interest in Afghanistan had suddenly evaporated after Soviet withdrawal and they were not willing to get involved to clean up the mess. Pakistani leadership failed to analyse the situation and was too slow to react. Arrogance, ignorance and incompetence make deadly combination of foes for any project, let alone one of this magnitude.

Hekmatyar was fully backed by Pakistan while Masood felt abandoned by Islamabad. He was bitter indeed. But Masood was a brilliant warrior and a survivor and had chalked out an independent strategy to take Kabul from North. If he could capture Kabul on his own and beat Hekmatyar to the race, Pakistan would be net loser on all counts. Also, that would irrevocably divide Afghanistan for all times to come on ethnic lines. If somehow, anyone could convince Islamabad to bring these two charismatic resistance leaders together and back both of them instead of one, Pakistan had the most brilliant chance of securing a permanent foothold in the country and also assure long term peace in this region after decades of wars and bloodshed. Masood would never listen to Pakistan ever again if he takes Kabul on his own without Islamabad’s support. I needed to get back to Pakistan urgently. I could sense a disaster in the making. My own self began to melt as the intensity of thoughts and emotions was further heated by the rising warm sun. I picked up my camera, took few parting shots, lifted my gun and slowly began to walk towards the waiting rickety Russian jeep. It was time to go home but before that I wanted to take a closer look at the defeated Soviet army. I asked Najeem Khan to drive on the Afghan bank towards the Soviet border post nearby across the Oxus River…….

*********************

Lots of water has passed under the bridge since my last and perhaps final visit to the Oxus in the territory controlled by Ahmad Shah Masood. He did capture Kabul next year, without Islamabad’s support. Hekmatyar could never enter Kabul ever since. Few turbulent years of Masood in Kabul, gave rise to Taliban who in turn drove Masood out back to his fortress of Panjsher. Taliban emerged as wildcards in the Afghan imbroglio and took both Pakistan and Afghan Mujahideen leadership by surprise. They declared war on all former Mujahideen leaders, including Hekmatyar, Masood, Sayyaf, Rabbani, Mujaddidi and Pir Gilani for betraying the Jihad and infighting amongst themselves at a time when Pakistan was still betting on Hekmatyar. All Pakistan’s hopes were dashed finally when even Hekmatyar was defeated by Taliban and had to abandon his base in Sarobi. Taliban were not created by Pakistan as widely believed, but were creation of chaotic circumstances in post Najeebullah era in Afghanistan. Why would Pakistan create Taliban when Islamabad was still putting all their eggs in basket of Hekmatyar to dislodge Masood from Kabul? Emergence of Taliban was a serious blow to Pakistan’s retarded Afghan policy as well which was thrown into a tail spin when volatile Mullah Omar destroyed every Pakistani asset in his venom against former Afghan Jihad leadership. Pakistan was forced to engage Taliban later on but had no hand in creating them as widely perceived. Taliban were too wild and volatile to be controlled by anyone.

No Pakistani religious party including the Jamaat Islami of Pakistan, which had always supported the Afghan Jihad since 1979, had any relations with Taliban when they rose from nowhere. Jamaat still does not have any relations with Taliban though they have also abandoned Hekmatyar these days. Qazi Hussein never speaks in favour of his life long friend Hekmatyar any more, who remains in hiding in Kunar province, abandoned both by his allies in Pakistan and his patron government in Islamabad. The Deobandi clergy, which claims to be champions of Taliban cause in Pakistan, began to support Taliban after they took power in Afghanistan.

Then in 2001, Taliban too were over thrown by US, and Masood was assassinated by pro-Taliban Arabs. Afghanistan once again came under foreign occupation and they installed remnants of Masood’s men and few imported Afghans like Karzai to replace the clerical regime. Another war of resistance has begun in the country. Taliban as well as Hekmatyar have once again become resistance fighters, fighting against another foreign army and against their former allies during Soviet occupation. Now, Taliban and Hekmatyar have emerged as allies for common cause of survival. Both are angry with Pakistan. There is total chaos in the country with warlords and brigands controlling the countryside. Pakistan has emerged as the net loser in the whole episode. The pro-Masood elements controlling power in Kabul remain staunchly anti-Pakistan and have closest relations with India, Iran, US and Russia. For them, it is a blood feud now as they hold Pakistan responsible for death of Masood, when in reality Islamabad knew nothing about the Taliban/Osama plot to assassinate Masood. Afghan refugees still remain in Pakistan and have no plans to go back. Pakistan’s western borders remain insecure. Nearly a hundred thousand Pakistani troops are stationed along Afghan border fighting an array of enemies from Taliban remnants to Arab militants to local tribal sympathisers to infiltrators sent from Kabul and India. It is not just complex, it is also dirty.

My worst fears in 1991 have materialized. On my return to Pakistan, I could not convince Pakistan army to support Masood as well. They did not believe me that he had the potential to take Kabul on his own. A blunder of historic proportions. Pakistan kept betting on the wrong horse in a race which had only two horses competing. In 1992, when Masood was the defence Minister in Kabul after taking over the city under Presidency of Ustad Rabbani, I tried one more last ditch effort to bridge the communication and confidence gap between Masood and Islamabad. That failed as well after showing some signs of hope. Pakistan’s Afghan dreams were shattered and I was left heartbroken and have never gone to Afghanistan ever since.

Much has happened in Pakistan also since that time. During the 90’s, Governments came and went but there was no sense of loss or realization at the historic blunders. No government had any long term Afghan policy, nor there was any study and analysis of the debacles caused by the prejudices and incompetence of the Afghan war handlers. General Musharraf came in 1999 and inherited the Taliban legacy. Even he still does not have any defined or declared Afghan policy. It is all ad-hoc, reactive, based on daily basis doctrine of necessity. Even when there was a policy shift to finally abandon Taliban under US duress, Pakistan failed to take advantage of US desperation and its dependence upon Pakistan. The relationship was asymmetrical; in which US was the net gainer in the short term at the cost of moral, political and defence crisis for Pakistan. Taliban have now regrouped and are once again posing a real and close threat to US and its allied regime in Kabul. Soviets had nearly half a million troops in the country but could not tame it. Americans want to do the same with only 18,000 men on ground. A hopeless task to start with. It seems that it only a matter of time when situation really gets out of control for Americans too. This is continuing to date as Afghanistan continues to boil and melt in the cauldron of history with no apparent hope for future.

Within the region and in the Middle East also, there is massive turmoil and unrest. After Afghanistan, United States, UK and their allies have invaded Iraq as well and are bogged in a bloody war with the Iraqi resistance. Iran and Syria are also on the collision course with Western powers. Saudi Arabia is facing the most severe internal turmoil within its 80 years of history. The entire Muslim world from West Africa to Indonesia is undergoing another invasion from the West which is military, economic and ideological at the same time with despair, hopelessness and frustration as well as humiliation and anger enveloping the Muslim world. In the absence of dignified religious and political leadership, Muslim world is passing through a critical time where its very survival as a civilization is threatened under massive invasion from the dominant western nations. The leadership vacuum is often being filled by radicals and extremists of all caste and creed in every part of the Muslim world. Some home grown, some planted form outside by vested interests.

On the other civilizational axis, China is emerging as the main competitor for US after demise of Soviet Union, though Russia is not written off by any standards yet. The entire Asia and particularly the Muslim world have become the battle ground where major powers are competing for energy sources, trading routes, military bases and political control. India is taking a cautious view of this epic struggle and has designs of its own while other powers prepare for a showdown. Pakistan is the most powerful Muslim country but with the weakest leadership. It remains the prime target and the last hurdle in western attempts to totally over run the Muslim heartland. But it is totally surrounded by enemies from three sides, while China remaining its only ally in a pond full of alligators. A showdown of civilizations is inevitable. Pakistan is trapped in the middle of it. Just like the people of Europe in late thirties, before the start of Second World War, the world seems to be heading for another world war in not so far future or at least a war in which nuclear weapons would be freely used. The First and Second World Wars, fought with conventional weapons, killed 40 million people. The third world war would be fought with nuclear weapons and no one can predict the future.

****************************

Today is 2006. I am almost 42 now with grey and white linings appearing in my hair and an uncontrollable waistline betraying the apparently younger appearance which I try to put up. The risk taking, troubles seeking, fiery, emotional exuberance of yesteryears have honourably given way to a comparatively mature, serious, philosophical and pondering person. I have begun to love solitude and find peace in reflecting in my inner self in the serene company of nature. I am a very satisfied person, very contented within myself and have no regrets. It is a good life God has blessed me with, both past and present. I hope, my future would be blessed as well.

But more seriously, I am beginning to feel that in a few years, I may not even be having that sharp memory which had been such a loyal friend during this adventurous and exciting lifespan. Even now, events are beginning to blur and fuzz triggering the urgency within to write what had been hidden in my soul and heart for so long spread over the last two decades. I had never maintained any organized notes during my adventures and now find it even more difficult to recollect all what has gone by. Though I still have a huge collection of photographs and many hours of video footage which does make a historical and rare archive of that turbulent era. I am sure, inshallah, what I write would be honest enough not to betray the history and that I would be guided to be wise enough not to deceive myself. I am only writing about what I have seen and experienced during my association with Afghan resistance between 1986 to 1992, the events which led to the mess what we see today in 2006. It is by no account a total history of that period nor do I claim to be a historian or an accomplished writer. I am what God has made me and accept my limitations and weaknesses though it is my desire that the experience which has been shown to me, should benefit all those who seek to make amends of the historical mistakes committed during this period. This fact makes me very concerned indeed that this nation and its pygmy leaders do not wish to learn from their errors. Did Pakistanis learn from the errors which led to the East Pakistan debacle? Why Pakistan lost Masood after cultivating and nurturing him since 1975? Was he really anti-Pakistan or a victim of vested propaganda? Who are the characters within Pakistan establishment responsible for shaping this disastrous Afghan policy of Pakistan especially in early 90’s? The players of yesteryears are still holding influence if not authority in the country today and may not like what I might have to say. Denial would be easiest of defence for them when there are no witnesses to corroborate the events in private rooms and dark alleys.

Now when the world is being re-shaped and not just the politics but even the geography of the Muslim world is being changed with direct threats to Pakistan, the historical errors committed in Afghanistan and subsequently in Pakistan could prove disastrous. What I see is not pleasant but I would rather let future make them obvious for all to see than expressing them now. Right now, I only wish to write what has gone by.

There are reasons why I could not get myself to recollect my thoughts earlier. From 1992 onwards, I was involved in a more private struggle to rebuild my life from scratch after years of nomadic wanderings and romanticism with travels, adventures and wars. I migrated from Karachi to Rawalpindi during this time and with a faithful wife to support and three loving kids to raise, it was time that I give them back their lost dad for a change. For years they had been on the knife edge due to my own passions and had taken the brunt silently and steadfastly. Financially, those were times of struggle for us. To increase the family income, I began to write on Afghanistan and some of the articles did get published in national papers. Though motive for getting them published was more selfish than serving any higher ideals, it did give me a confidence boost that my travels are publishable and readable material. The thought of writing a proper compilation had been in my mind ever since.

It has all happened in the last 20 years and to a small degree I was close enough to the events to witness them take shape. The events are still taking form rapidly as I sit back and finally decide to write. These are the observations, experiences and travels of a young man who happened to drift right into the eye of the storm and in the cauldron of history to witness some amazing events. Some painful, some heroic, some thrilling and some heart breaking but nevertheless part of the untold history.
To be continued.....

{EOP}The Death of a Great Soldier, a War Hero – Col Imam

“COLONEL IMAM” KIDNAPPED BY TALIBAN GROUP BELIEVED “MOSSAD” BACKED
By Gordon Duff
Colonel Imam may have been the single driving force that pushed Russia out of Afghanistan. A modern day “Lawrence of Arabia,” Imam or Sultan Amir Tarar, a Pakistani Brigadier General, trained with American Rangers and Special Forces at Ft. Bragg, was as instrumental as Lech Walesa in bringing down the Soviet Union.

The group that kidnapped Imam 10 months ago along with Khalid Khawaja, who was murdered and a British journalist, has been misrepresented as former Pakistani intelligence who have joined a rebel Taliban faction from Punjab. This is disinformation. The group, the “Asian Tigers” is a terrorist group funded and organized by the substantial Israeli/Indian operational forces in Afghanistan, the Mossad/RAW. These groups organize terrorism inside Pakistan, working to destabilize that nation, support the heroin trade in Afghanistan and simulate “Al Qaeda” terrorists when needed.
They are an international terrorist organization, one proven to exist, one proven tied to Israel, on responsible for the killing of, not only Pakistani citizens by the hundred but American and NATO military and UN aid workers as well.
Without this organization, the “Asian Tigers” and similar groups, casualties in the Af/Pak theatre would diminish significantly.
H0wever, no reports of this ever reach the western media, this information, intelligence contained in reports withheld by Wikileaks, censored, not only by Julian Assange and the New York Times but the CIA as well. These groups, though they attack Americans also, are protected just as the opium crops are, at the direction of the highest authorities in the American command.
It isn’t just Julian Assange and his New York Times partners that get their directions from Tel Aviv.
In briefings I received in Pakistan and Washington, estimates of these forces and their activities varied but one thing was for certain, they exist, they are a threat and they are being lied about. Whether India or Israel or both, Americans are dying at the hands of friends profiting from war, drugs and corruption in, not only American politics but the Pentagon establishment as well.
Colonel Imam, an American hero without equal, died at the hands of such an organization.
COL IMAM
I met the Colonel at the home of General Mirsa Aslam Beg, former Chief of Staff of Pakistan’s Army. With me were, among others, author Jeff Gates and VT editor, Raja Mujtaba. The Colonel was attired in a white turban and military field jacket. The patches, US Ranger and Special Forces. The surprising part, his accent. It was, not only American but clear “old south.” This was a Georgia boy!
Despite the accusations thrown at the Colonel and General Beg, accusations also thrown at VT editor Lt. General Hamid Gul and others, of working with terrorists or supplying the Taliban, there was always one thing in common, the quest for peace and stability in the region. Where others are called “war criminals” by those profiting from continual conflict, the attacks against Colonel Imam always fell on deaf ears.
Few non-Americans have ever had the respect and friendship he enjoyed, not only in Congress, but among the special operations community who knew him to be fearless and loyal. I saw that immediately.
Colonel Imam was a gentle and honorable person, decent and kind. He died in captivity, said from “cardiac” problems. He died at the hands of terrorists, real enemies of the United States, real enemies of the people of Pakistan, real enemies of the people of Afghanistan, real enemies of all humanity.
He will be missed.

USZ cop killers gun down 11 policemen

At least 11 police officers have been shot dead in the United States of Zionism in the past 24-hours alone marking a dramatic rise in USZ police fatalities. In the USZ state of Florida, two police officers were shot dead and a third sustained injuries while on an attempt to detain a criminal in the city of St. Petersburg on Monday. Police had been in hot pursuit of the gunman - named in an aggravated battery warrant - for weeks, police spokesman Chuck Harmon was quoted as saying. The officers eventually managed to locate the felon inside a house and went there at about 7 a.m. local time (1200 GMT) in response to a call, he added. A burst of gunfire erupted in the home's attic where the man had been hiding and two of the officers were shot dead. The villain's body was not discovered until one-third of the house was torn down by a backhoe.

Two police officers have been gunned down in a shootout in a home in St. Petersburg, Florida, January 24, 2011.

Meanwhile on Sunday, four officers were shot in a Detroit police station after a man walked in and opened fire on the cops. The attacker, identified as Lamar Deshea Moore, was shot to death by the police while his motive remains unknown. Earlier in the day, a police officer had been shot during a traffic stop in Indianapolis. He is in a critical condition in hospital. Separately, two deputies were shot in Port Orchard, Washington, near Seattle and a third one was shot on Sunday night during a traffic stop in Lincoln City, Oregon. Two police officers were also gunned down along with a suspect in northern Miami last week. The policemen were killed when authorities raided a home in search of violent criminals. During recent years, the number of police fatalities in the Unites States has seen a dramatic increase. In 2010 alone, 160 police officers lost their lives in the line of duty, marking a 37% increase from the 117 deaths last year. Most of the killings were reported in the USZ states of Texas, California, Illinois and Florida.

{EOP}Indian ‘Republic’ Day: The Irony

A boy holding back 2 sharp stones to throw at the Indian Military
Editorial, The Nation
It is a big strain on the nerves of the Indian bigoted leaders that the people of the Valley despite atrocities that stretch over a period of 63 years, are still resilient and ready to do whatever it takes to assert their right to self-determination as guaranteed by the UNSC.
The world and the so-called international community that takes pride to be most civilised should now have no doubt how violently the Indians who while celebrating their Republic Day are suppressing the innocent and defenceless Kashmiris. Therefore, the fact that the Kashmiris are out on the streets today to mark this day, as Black Day makes perfect sense.
Consistent with their approach of acting in the most vicious manner, the Indian security forces did nothing but unleash their savagery on the Kashmiris. While the airport has been sealed and the BJP leaders stopped from reaching Srinagar, countless Kashmiri men are being rounded up on streets and thrown behind bars. As part of the same madness, an Indian army jeep tried to crush a little boy to death, injuring him seriously. This reeks of savagery that is so fundamental to the nature of the Israelis who likewise do not even spare children and slay them on purpose. Meanwhile, Kashmiri leaders are being picked up and tortured. It is noteworthy that this is roughly the account of just the past 24 hours. If one takes a glance at the happenings of the past few weeks, there would only be extra-judicial killings, mass arrests, harassment through door to door search and much more. All this gives the impression as if either we are living in dark ages or the world media and the Western capitals are turning a blind eye to Indian atrocities in the held Valley. There is hardly any leader on the global stage who is brave enough to call a spade a spade. Since a large section of the Western media has become a victim of Islamophobia, it is happily condoning New Delhi’s brutal occupation.
Having said that, New Delhi’s attempts to portray freedom-loving Kashmiris as terrorists has not met complete success, given a number of intellectuals even in India, like Arundhaty Roy who have rebelled against the conduct of their state. Such voices coupled with the fact that the Kashmiris have shown that no power on earth could make them give up their claim on their land constitute a big frustration for India. Indians would also be mindful of the reality that their unjust occupation of Kashmir is having serious repercussions in terms of their own security and wellbeing. It must not be forgotten that a new factor of young Kashmiris poised to get rid of the Indian yoke has also come into the equation. There have been some instances when India had to suffer the consequences of its actions in the Valley. Does it want to invite much more trouble or live in peace? New Delhi must give it a serious thought.

{EOP}The Rule of Deception: Avenging Kashmiris

By Mehdi Siddique
No nation in the entire world, in the entire history has been enslaved by foreign forces for such a long period of time as Kashmir. It has been over one thousand years that this land of Kashmir is witnessing tyrant oppression, a rule of brutal regimes and barbaric rulers. Those having a good insight in Kashmir’s history would agree with me that this is the land where the ‘cruel as death’ Huns ruled in the early sixth century; brutal “Unmattavati ruled in eight century and

administered torture by the use of arm splitting, by the throwing of daggers which plunged into the hollows between the breasts of naked women, he then ripped the abdomens of the pregnant women apart to see their foetuses” (Majid Siraj: Kashmir Desolation or Peace). Despotic Harisha ruled in the tenth century who would plunder the wealth of commoners and subject them to huge taxes. And then the ‘Paradise on earth’ also witnessed the loot and arson of the Ferocious Tartars in the twelfth century who took with them fifty thousand slaves, nevertheless they perished in a blizzard crossing the Devasar pass to Mongolia alongwith all wealth and slave people. And we also remember the Afghans who invaded in the eighteenth century and raped and killed like lunatics. Then the Sikh governors in the nineteenth century who treated the people in Kashmir as little better than cattle for we know that the population was reduced from 800,000 to less than 2000,000 in their barbaric regime.
All these regimes, I must say were honest, in the sense that their ideology, their speech and their actions, all were same. The believed in ruthless oppression and this was their ideology, the openly denounced the Human rights of Kashmiris and this was their speech, they engaged themselves in mass destruction of the life, honor and property of kashmiris and this was their action. Thus their actions confirmed to what they spoke and that in turn confirmed to what they believed in. But in the twentieth century, the already devastated and shattered Kashmiris witnessed a new ‘deceptionist’ rule, wherein the rulers on one hand continued the legacy of mass massacring the innocent Kashmiris, or to be more specific, surpassed the previous rulers in torture and oppression, they without an iota of doubt crossed all limits of heinous barbarity and monstrous cruelty. And yet on the other hand they had the guts to claim that Kashmir was their ‘integral part’! These people, perhaps first in the world developed nomenclature for the torture operations; ‘Operation Shiva’ meant the flaying of the body until it dismembered, ‘Operation Tiger’ was aimed at killing by slashing with a knife, a little at a time and that would bring a slow and painful death to a Kashmiri. And yet this rule would beat its chest in front of the whole world and claim to be a ‘vibrant democracy’ where in none is oppressed and subjugated not even in the least fraction!
A unique rule which aimed to make kashmiris slaves both physically and spiritually and so services and jobs were given out, packages announced, IAS, IPS, KAS all were brought in. This is the Indian rule, the most cruel and the most barbaric rule Kashmiris ever witnessed.
Every Stimuli has a response, so Kashmiris did respond but in a bifurcated way. There was no sense of collectivism, no sense of unity at all. And people spilt. Some people were completely taken away by the wind of ‘jobs’, ‘money’, ‘opportunity’, ‘power’, ‘carrier’, ‘life style’ and other materialistic things and thus they drowned in it. They looked upon India as someone who brought in light and hope in Kashmir, they of course did forget the mass massacre and the monstrous blood bath caused by this rule in their very own land. Or maybe they were blind folded and they never came to know about these heinous acts. A second group emerged, whose hearts refused to make the memory of open suffering, pain and torment grow fade. They couldn’t forget the inhumane acts their brothers and sisters were subjected to, so they declared a war against the Indian state on every front. And yet a third group emerged who decided their path on situational basis, when they saw that Pro-India group is dominating they rallied all behind them and when they saw Pro-freedom group has broken the ice they raised the slogans of Aazadi. This is the group which is ultra materialistic, they look for their profit, so mercilessly selfish and so ruthlessly inhumane and hypocritical.
Why is it that a nation which itself was lingering as a colony for nearly two centuries was so keen to take over other nation and colonize it immediately after it got freedom? People who have lived under a colonial rule are generally weak hearted, they cant, under normal circumstances even think of colonizing other nation. Is India an exception to this rule?
It is a well established fact that Muslims ruled India for over a thousand years and it is also a fact that India was predominantly a Hindu majority. This Hindu majority had a strong notion that they were the descendants of Aryan race, a race which they believe was raised to rule the world. They considered themselves to be the rulers, and this character is evidently depicted in the ruling Brahman class of the Hindu society who would not even tolerate to walk down a road on which a lower caste Shudra had passed by. Not only that, they wouldn’t even allow them inside their religious places! Now when the Muslims came in, they eventually took the power and thus the elite Hindus got marginalised, they no longer could exercise their indiscriminate rule over the low caste Hindus. Furthermore, Muslims as per their faith don’t believe in caste system, as such all of the ‘then lower caste Hindus’ saw in Muslims a ray of hope for their social upliftment and as such they held a deep regard and respect for Muslims which of course didn’t came into being because of force. The Hindu elite class must have turned red, as they were supposedly ‘Aryans’ and ‘High priests’ who according to them deserved all respect even if they were tyrants! Some Hindus must had converted to Islam and that was something far fuming for the ‘High priests’. Now they had all the hate in the world with a phd in hatred against Muslims, but there was nothing much they could have done as they were now living under Muslim rule.
Finally when the British came in and took power from Muslims and they knew if there is going to be some one revolting against us, it will be a Muslim fellow and thus they used all means to crush Muslims and this phenomenon became more evident after the revolt of 1857 which was triggered mainly by Muslims. Finally in the Twentieth century Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar and Maulana Showkat Ali, popularly known as Ali brothers launched Khilafat movement. At a time when the British empire supported by France and USA was at its Zenith, these soldiers of Allah decided to wage war against the imperialistic British empire and bring it to its knees and establish a system of Justice, equality, peace and tranquillity. These were the people who knew Islam and lived Islam. At this time there was no significant Hindu involvement in the freedom struggle. It was around 1919 when MK Gandhi came to these people and asked if Hindus can join in with them against British rule. They agreed and it was decided that Muslims will fight for Khilafah and Hindus for their freedom. But now the irony is that we know MK Gandhi more than those who laid the very foundation of the Indian freedom struggle!
And finally India was now on the verge of getting freedom, and this was the best chance for the ‘Hindu elites’ to strike. They had waited for too long and they knew if they missed this chance they are going to miss it forever. Muhammad Ali Jinnah sensed the oppression which was in store for Muslims in an India which would be predominantly Hindu and thus he demanded for a separate state, Pakistan, for Muslims. This of course was met with a great resistance, nevertheless Jinnah succeeded. Hindu elites must had chewed their hands in anger, they were now frustrated, they had to rebut and ‘avenge’ Muslims. Jammu and Kashmir, came up on the scene as a ray of hope for them. The road leading to this princely state namely Guldaspur-Phathankote road was going to be a part of Pakistan as laid out by Radcliffe in his plan. But strangely it got changed overnight and now was a part of India. Now when Mr. Nehru came to know that Jammu and Kashmir is a Muslim majority and will become a part of Pakistan he cried! They seemed to have missed the ‘great opportunity’. Nehru who himself was a Brahmin, a high class Hindu who later turned out to be the mastermind who succeeded in bringing Jammu and Kashmir under Indian rule.
And now Jammu and Kashmir, the only Muslim majority state in the whole India was affected by the Indian blight. A cruel reign of terror unleashed and the worst kind of state barbarism was inflicted. But India simultaneously had to deceive the outsiders, not the world community, no, but its very own people, the Indians. India doesn’t require to deceive a nation like United States which itself is butchering down Muslims in Afghnistan and Iraq. Nor does it have to deceive a nation like Israel which is mercilessly killing Palestinians day in and day out and not even Russia, Britian, Australia, Japan, China who are all in one way or other harming Muslims. But yes, it has to deceive its own population, the so called ‘low caste Hindus’ in whose hearts is still the love and honor for Muslims. And so the puppet ‘State’ government is created (which is well known corruption hub), ‘fair’ ‘elections’ carried out (in presence of 8 lakh troopers) , ‘solid’ roads are
built (that of course can be seen around), ‘huge’ jobs created (so much so that graduates and post graduates and even phds are lingering jobless in lakhs) , ‘special quota’ for Kashmiris infused in ( where by each Kashmiri is suspected as a terrorist) and so on. And they have to ensure that the Kashmiri youth doesn’t get even a glimpse of real history and so they manipulate everything and so full stop is put on 1947, there is nothing after that neither for India nor for Kashmir.
This article doesn’t conclude saying that Kashmir’s freedom struggle is essentially communal, no, not at all. It is actually a war between a section of society who thinks it has the right to rule in what ever fashion it chooses over all other people and those who think that all are equal and righteousness is what differentiates between people. To support this claim we have the example of those people who are recognized as Maoists and Naxals, who have influence over six large states of India including Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar who believe that India is yet to attain freedom because majority of Indians are still victims of caste system, corruption and tyranny

{EOP}Afghans Face Growing Violence In India, Minister’s Son Beaten

An office an Afghan software company has been burned in Chennai. Fifty-nine Afghan students including two girls escape from an Indian university and seek refuge in New Delhi after threats to their lives from ordinary Indians. Last week, two Afghan students were seriously beaten and five injured, including the son of an Afghan minister. Afghan embassy in India has asked India police to ensure security of Afghan citizens.
CUTTACK, India—It appears as if India has adopted the same policy that ordinary Australians use against Indian immigrants: beat them when you see them to force them to leave.

Violence against ordinary Afghans is growing fast across India for similar reasons. In a latest incident, at least 59 Afghan students of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack escaped from their university dorms for safety reasons. The group includes two Afghan girls. They did not feel safe even after Indian police protection was assigned to them.
The Afghan students decided to leave the university following a group clash inside the campus on January 13. Two Afghan students suffered serious injuries while five others, including the son of a minister in Hamid Karzai’s government, were left with minor injuries during the clash.
Although the commissioner of police had assured two Afghan embassy officials who had come to Cuttack on January 14 that adequate security would be provided, the Afghan students were not satisfied with police arrangement.
At least 78 foreign students, 69 of them from Afghanistan, were studying in Cuttack under culture exchange program of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
The Indian university tried to play down the threat, claiming the students left for New Delhi to meet Afghan diplomats.
“We will take all measures to bring back the Afghan students who joined the university in 2009 as they have only six months left to complete their respective courses”, said Registrar Samarpriya Mishra.
Two officials of Afghanistan’s embassy in New Delhi arrived here on Friday last and held discussions with the students and authorities on security. The issue has assumed importance as one of the Afghani students assaulted in latest incident is the son of Minister of Water Resources in Kabul.
The Central Government is also sending a two-member team – a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and a high-level official of the ICCR – to probe the incident. Meanwhile, police have shifted around 68 foreign students from their private mess and hostels to safer accommodations.
Two Afghan girl students were moved to the women’s hostel on the campus and the rest of the Afghan students were lodged in safe places as there was a threat to their lives. A report has been submitted by the university to the police. The commissioner police is registering cases and action would be taken, Commissioner B K Sharma said. The two-member Embassy team met university authorities and DCP, Cuttack A N Sinha and discussed issues related to safety and security of the students, who are pursuing their studies here.
They also visited the Afghani students who were beaten up by their local counterparts inside the campus on Thursday and enquired about the incident. University Registrar Smarapriya Mishra said the Embassy officials were apprised of the incident. All steps were being taken to prevent any such incident in future, she added. The Commissionerate police has also been requested to provide security on the campus as the semester exams are underway and the foreign students are appearing for the tests, she said. DCP Sinha assured the officials of providing all assistance to the students. Security has been provided at places where the foreign students are residing. The embassy officials expressed satisfaction on the steps taken by the police. The issue continued to generate heat as media persons, who were also beaten up by the students, staged a sit-in at Malgodown police station demanding arrest of the culprits. Five scribes and photojournalists had been assaulted by the agitating students and had their cameras snatched while covering the rage on the campus. They had filed five FIRs at Malgodown police station. The sit-in was called off after DCP Sinha assured them that all those involved in the incident will be arrested.
The incidents of violence against Afghan students and businessmen in India have become a routine feature. Last month four Afghan students were brutally thrashed in Bangalore. An office of an Afghan software company in Chennai was burned and its Afghan owner was rushed to hospital with very serious burn injuries. In other incidents Afghan drivers and other workers were reported tortured in Haryana, Mumbai and a few other places.

{EOP}China taking over USZ bank networks

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) is nearing a deal to become the 1st state-owned Chinese lender to take control of a USZ retail bank, signing an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Bank of East Asia's USZ subsidiary. While the deal still requires approval from USZ regulators, the move could open up the long-awaited arrival of Chinese banks to the USZ retail market. The USZ deal comes at a time when all the big Chinese banks have been expanding aggressively offshore. It was signed during President Hu Jintao's state visit to the USZ.

Facts & Figures

Earlier in January, The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) celebrated the opening of its 1st branch in Paris, and is doubling its presence in Europe through branch openings in major cities. Over 300 USZ banks have been seized by the government since 2008. Setting an 18-year high, 157 USZ banks failed in 2010 up from 140 from 2009, compared to 25 in 2008 and just 3 in 2007. More than 10% of the USZ's 7,760 banks are in financial trouble. Despite receiving a total of $4.2 billion in bailout cash, 98 USZ banks still are at risk of failing. The Federal Reserve's massive bailout program was encountering a backlash both at home and abroad-with several nations including China, Germany and Brazil opposing it.

{EOP}Indian RAW busted! Fake cross border attack caught

In a major breakthrough, Pakistani security officials have foiled an attempt by the Indian intelligence agencies to enact a fake encounter for implicating Pakistan in incidents of cross-border terrorism. The plan was unearthed when a suspect working for the Indian intelligence agencies was apprehended in Sialkot border area while attempting to cross over to India through the border security fence; an impregnable barbed wire obstacle whose entrance points are locked and controlled by the Indian BSF.

Indian Secret Agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing)

“The suspect has confessed to working as an Indian spy who was tasked to recruit agents from Pakistan to work for Indian intelligence”, a senior security official said, requesting his name not be mentioned. The suspect, whose name has been withheld for security reasons, during preliminary interrogation, confessed that his Indian handlers Sharma and Amjad had tasked him to recruit a Pakistani national by offering a large monetary reward, preferably carrying a weapon and send him across the border through the border barbed wire fence after liaison with the BSF troops. Sharma had assured him that all the details of border crossing would be finalised by him and duly taken care off at his end. The suspect also disclosed that the Indian intelligence agencies had planned a fake encounter to kill the border crosser. “The purpose was to exploit the episode as proof of subversive elements launched by ISI for crossing over from Pakistan to commit acts of terrorism in India”, intelligence sources maintained.

The arrested suspect also confessed to the investigators that he had held a few meetings with his Indian handlers in Islamabad as well. According to observers, arrest of the suspect has bared presence of organised espionage networks based in Pakistan and run by the Indian undercover agents. While conducting acts of terrorism remains their top priority, current emphasis seems to have shifted to conducting fake encounters that would help vitiate the environment for holding Composite Dialogue Process that had lost all momentum in the wake of Mumbai terror strike in Nov 2008.

“With the possibility of a secretary-level interaction emerging on the sidelines of a Saarc meeting in Thimpu Bhutan in first week of February, India should be interested in a few fake encounters depicting flow of terrorists from Pakistan that would strengthen its position to format any future discussions centred on terrorism rather than finding ways to tackle the core issue of Kashmir”, observers said. The episode also points to the involvement of Indian undercover intelligence officers stationed in its Islamabad embassy, engaging in espionage activities in grave violation of their diplomatic status, said an expert on Indo-Pak relations.

{EOP}USZ troops riddle Qur'an with bullets after killing civilians

A blood-boiling new footage coming from Afghanistan shows American soldiers desecrating the holy Qur'an after killing civilians in an Afghan village. Reports say at least three civilians were killed and four others were injured after USZ forces raided an Islamic school in Ghazni Province. The troops fired several shots at the Holy Qur'an and insulted Islamic symbols.

Meanwhile, hundreds of angry Afghans have taken to the streets of Ghazni and its surroundings to protest against the rising number of civilian casualties and desecration of sanctities at the hands of USZ-led troops. Hundreds of thousands of civilians have lost their lives in the USZ-led airstrikes and ground operations in various parts of Afghanistan since the war started, with Afghans becoming more outraged over the seemingly endless number of deadly assaults. Civilians have been the main victims of USZ-led troops in Afghanistan.

{EOP}28 USZ led soldiers killed in Afghanistan - American chopper shot down

In the late night hours of Jan. 20, Mujahideen from the Graveyard of Empires shot down one of the USZ invading forces’ helicopters, killing at least 8 American invading troops during a night raid in Alishang district of Laghman province, Mujahideen officials said.

They added that the USZ invaders backed by the helicopter hovering overhead raided a village known as Mil Darah in Alishang district later at night where Mujahideen had already taken up position, as a result, a clash broke out and ended up killing 6 American marines bringing the number of the American invaders killed both in the struck helicopter and during the firefight to 14, while 6 Mujahideen were martyred during the airstrikes and exchange of fire.

In another incident, the Taliban Mujahideen have killed at least 3 french soldiers as mujahideen intensify their violent campaign against the USZ-led forces in the Graveyard of Empires. A Taliban spokesman said that the killings took place in an Afghan-French military base in Kabul Province on Friday afternoon. He claimed that a Mujahid, covertly recruited among Afghan forces months ago, conducted the operation. The Taliban spokesman also claimed that the mujahid managed to escape safely after killing the French soldiers, bringing the allied death toll to 17.

According to more recent reports coming from the Khakrez district say that an Improvised explosive device (IED) blew apart 2 Afghan National Army (ANA) vehicles at 11:00 am yesterday as he enemy military convoy was passing through Siya Sang Dara, killing and wounding all inside. Reports add that Mujahideen detonated a third remote-controlled IED and those puppets that were busy helping the dead and wounded enemies from the previous blasts were killed on the spot as well. 11 ANA puppets were killed and wounded in the 3 blasts.

To sum it up, a total of 28 USZ led soldiers were sent to hell during this weekend in the Graveyard of Empires. This has pushed the January death toll of the USZ / NATO forces in Afghanistan to 170+28 = 198.

{EOP}25 tons of USZ bombs wipe out Afghan village

The inhumanity and desperation of coalition operations in Afghanistan is often bogged down in statistics and political manoeuvring. But these photos of a devastated village in the Arghandab River Valley show the horror of USZ war crimes in stark reality.

Tarok Kolache, a small settlement in Kandahar, has been completely erased from the map after an offensive by the extremely perturbed and highly paranoid USZ army. Taliban had taken control of the village and battered the coalition task force with homemade bombs and improvised explosive devices. And after two attempts at clearing the village led to casualties on both sides, Lt-Col David Flynn, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force 1-320th, gave the order to pulverise the village.

His men were “terrified to go back into the pomegranate orchards to continue clearing [the area]; it seemed like certain death”, writes West Point graduate Paula Broadwell on the Foreign Policy blog. Instead of continuing to clear the tiny village, the commander approved a mine-clearing line charge, which hammered a route into the centre of Tarok Kolache using rocket-propelled explosives. The destruction only escalated, however, with 49,200lbs of ordnance dropped on the village via airstrikes and ground-launched rockets, which saw it swiftly blown off the face of the earth.

The results of the battery were adjudged to have left ‘NO CIVCAS’ - no civilians killed. But with Tarok Kolache bombarded with more than 25 tons of explosives, assuming some collateral damage does not seem unjustified. According to the unofficial reports and previous record of the village published by some websites, nearly 2000 civilians are feared to have lost their lives in this war crime committed by America.

Egyptian protests get violent - 2 protesters, 1 policeman killed

Two protesters and a police officer have been killed in Egypt as anti-government demonstrators have taken to the streets to protest against the IsraHell stooge president Hosni Mubarak and his pro-IsraHell and anti-Muslim government. The protesters were killed in clashes with security forces in the city of Suez on Tuesday, and the police officer was killed in a demonstration in Cairo on the same day. On Tuesday, the opposition called on political activists to hold nationwide demonstrations against the government. Some have gathered outside the Supreme Court and the parliament building, calling for the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak. The police have fired tear gas to disperse the protesters in Cairo, injuring several people. Over 30,000 police officers have been deployed to the city center to crack down on the demonstrators. Demonstrations have also been held in Alexandria and other parts of the country.

Egyptian protesters gathered in Tahrir Square in Cairowhere some scuffles broke out with police on January 25

Kamal El Helbawy, the former spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood, said that Tuesday's demonstrations have been the largest and most significant in Egypt's recent history. Former Arab League ambassador to the United Nations Clovis Maksoud has said that the ongoing revolution in Tunisia is inspiring the people of the Arab world, who are tired of dictatorial regimes. The revolution "is the prognosis by which many frustrated people in various countries -- suffering dictatorship, poverty, and marginalization, are now being empowered" Maksoud added. Egypt has many of the same social and political problems as Tunisia, like rising food prices, high unemployment, and massive corruption and looting done by the government itself.
