{EOP}Pakistan Army warns USZ & India

Top commanders of the Pakistan Army have unanimously decided to reduce presence of USZ military personnel in the country to bare essential. Chairing the 138th Corps Commanders Conference held Thursday at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, while discussing the USZ raid to kill Osama bin Laden, made it very clear that any similar action violating the sovereignty of Pakistan will warrant a review on the level of military and intelligence cooperation with the United States of Zionism. As regards the possibility of similar hostile action against strategic assets, the commanders reaffirmed that, unlike an undefended civilian compound, “our strategic assets are well protected and an elaborate defensive mechanism is in place”.

The commanders, taking serious note of the assertions made by Indian military leadership about conducting similar operations, made it very clear that any misadventure of this kind will be responded to very strongly. There should be no doubt about it. They reiterated the resolve to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan and to fight the menace of terrorism, with the support and help of the people of Pakistan. According to ISPR, the conference discussed one-point agenda – the Abbottabad Circus of so called OBL assassination by USZ forces. The Forum discussed the incident and its implications on military-to-military relations with the United States of Zionism. It was highlighted that the achievements of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) against al-Qaeda and its terrorist affiliates in Pakistan, have no parallel.

Agencies add: The USZ has around 275 declared USZ military personnel in Pakistan at any one time, some of them helping train the Pakistan Army. The Pakistani Army warned that it would review its military and intelligence cooperation with Washington if the United States of Zionism carries out any more similar raids. Earlier, the government had warned of “disastrous consequences” if the USZ staged a similar attack on its territory.

{EOP}China urges international community to respect Pakistan's sovereignty

Jiang Yu, China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman
China reaffirmed its support on Thursday for efforts by its ally Pakistan to combat terrorism after the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by USZ forces, and urged the world to help Islamabad. Foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu stopped short of directly criticising the daring raid by USZ special forces on Pakistani soil, but said national sovereignty “should be respected” at all times. “Pakistan is at the forefront of the international counter-terrorism effort. The international community should understand and support Pakistan”, Jiang told a press conference. “We support Pakistan’s position and understand and support Pakistan formulating and implementing a counter-terrorism strategy based on its national conditions.”
“We believe that terrorism is a public enemy of the international community and the international community should work together to combat the potential terrorist threat”, Jiang said. “A holistic approach should be taken to address the symptoms and causes of terrorism and eliminate the breeding grounds”. Earlier this week, Jiang called the death of bin Laden a “positive development in the international anti-terrorism struggle” but on Thursday, she suggested China did not necessarily approve of USZ methods. “We uphold that countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity should be respected”, the foreign ministry spokeswoman said. Islamabad has complained that the USZ military raid was unauthorised and unilateral, and should not set any precedent, but USZ Puppet President Barack Obama has said he reserves the right to target fugitives in Pakistan in future. CIA director Leon Panetta said that the United States of Zionism chose not to alert Pakistan of the operation on its soil for fear that officials may have alerted the Al-Qaeda chief - evidence of Washington’s uneasy ties with Islamabad.

{EOP}The Islamic Education System vs The Western Education System

The youth of this generation are the leaders and governors of the future. Consequently their education, ways of thinking and values are of great importance in shaping the world of tomorrow. In this short treatise we will explore some of what the Western Education system offers our children and we will present the true alternative Education system as it will be under the Islamic State, which is soon to come, Insha’Allah.

Islam's policy regarding seeking knowledge and education has always been aimed at building the Islamic mentality and the Islamic disposition (tendencies or inclination), which together form the Islamic personality. Islam develops a comprehensive understanding about life. And through this understanding, it shapes our actions; it also shapes our likes and dislikes. Children would, therefore, not only perform their Islamic duties, but they would do so with pleasure. Islam has dealt with both of these matters and linked them directly to the 'Aqeedah (creed), so some of its texts deal with the thought (the mentality) and other texts deal with the tendencies (the emotions).

“Read in the name of your Lord Who created. He created man from a clot. Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, Who taught (to write) with the pen. Taught man that he knew not.” [Qur’an: 96: 1-5]

Al-Azhar University in Cairo is one of the oldest operating universities in the world. The Islamic university is connected to the beautiful and historic Al-Azhar Mosque

During most of Islamic history, every major city within the Khilafah possessed public and private libraries. Libraries such as Cordoba and Baghdad boasted collections of over 400,000 books. Arabic became the most important scientific language. The Muslims use of the Zero, which was previously absent in mathematical Sciences enabled great advances, solving problems that for centuries remained unsolved.
Muslim mathematicians devised and developed algebra and the concept of algorithms were thought up by Al KhwarizmiIbn Sina’s textbook of medicine (Al Qanun) was used as a standard reference in Europe for almost 600 years. Muslims had developed the mechanical robots. Science flourished under the Islamic Education system.
Al-Azhar Mosque
The Muslims were the most advanced in the world in fields such as: mathematics, geometry, optics, astronomy, medicine, physics, natural sciences, engineering and many others. Today the Muslim world is plagued by astonishingly high levels of illiteracy. The Messenger of Allah (saw) tackled head on the issue of illiteracy amongst Muslims. He (saw) made the ransom of each prisoner at Badr to teach ten Muslims how to read. The Islamic state would strive to ensure every Muslim thus turns into either a scholar (mujtahid) or a learner (muttabii).

Our Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said: “Seeking Of Knowledge Is An Obligation Upon Every Muslim, Be It A Man Or A Woman.”

Lets realize what are the causes and lacking in our current education system which, today, is not producing the greatest scientists like Ibn Sina, Jabir Ibn Haiyan, Yaqub Ibn Ishaq al-Kindi, Abu al-Nasr al-Farabi, Abu al-Qasim Khalaf bin 'Abbas el-Zahrawi, Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, & Ibn Khaldun etc.

Consider a typical day in the life of a Muslim child in a school based on western education system. You drop off your child, feeling satisfied that they are about to enter an environment that is safe and secure. Lets assume that first lesson is geography. The child will be taught about the different countries: its resources, population, peoples and culture, language, its national flag etc And many of these will inevitably be of Muslim countries. It all seems quite harmless until you realize that Islam does not recognize most of these countries as separate identities. Islam looks to the Muslims as one nation not separated by these national identities which have been designed to cause disunity amongst the Muslims. Allah (swt) says:
“And hold fast all of you together to the rope of Allah and do not be divided.” [Qur’an: 3:103].

Maybe the next lesson in the daily routine will be science. You expect the child to gain an understanding in science that will further his/her future career. But it is easy to forget that many of the ideas taught in this subject are in direct contradiction to the Islamic belief. After all, many theories, hypotheses and speculations, which have no firm foundation in evidence add which are subject to dispute among experts, are taught as if they are established facts. The Theory of Evolution suggests that humans evolved from apes. The principle of Conservation of Energy proposes that energy is eternal (cannot be destroyed or created, but just transformed). Humans are put in the same category as animals. The water cycle is presented as a self subsisting system and many more satanic ideas.
Al-Qarawiyyin- university located in Fes, Morocco. Founded in 859, as a religious school, the university is one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Muslim world. It is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest degree-granting university in the world.
The only history that is taught is that of the West. Its wars, its political development, its achievements, discoveries and inventions etc. Islam is not considered as having any important history, having little effect on the world. Its glories are portrayed as just an episode of world history that is now over. Moreover it is taught as a religion that subjugates and oppresses the innocent. The child will learn more about the Romans than of the Muslims. They will learn more about the wars and battles fought in the way of Capitalism rather than the wars fought by the Muslims in the way of Allah. There will not be discussed the Great Ghazwas of Our Holy Prophet (s.a.w), great wars of Sahabas such as the battle of Yarmouk or Ajnadin, the expansion of Islam to Iraq, Persia, Rome, Egypt, rest of Africa, Europe, Central Asia and South Asia. In this child's religious education (RE) lessons Islam is compared to the likes of religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism etc.
Al-Qarawiyyin
The uniqueness of the Islamic belief is not presented but is diminished. Even labeling Islam as a religion is not accurate since Islam is a comprehensive way of life, covering all aspects from personal worship to governing life's affairs in a state. Even if some aspects of Islam are taught but they are still incomplete and lacks the true spirit of Islam which was present during the times our ancestors. Moreover, education does not only happen in the school. Society itself plays a major role in educating a child. It can be thought of as a bigger school: instead of using blackboards, teachers and classrooms, society employs television, radio, advertising, billboards or children's magazines to educate the child with un-Islamic practices. The child may grow increasingly alienated from Islam. He or she may become more aware and accustomed to non Islam.
Now, lets analyze how the Islamic Education System differs from the Western education system:
  • Firstly, The child's education would be free since it is the state's duty to provide, as a basic necessity, free education for everymale and female at primary and secondary levels. Every citizen of the state must be provided with education of that which is needed in all aspects of life.
  • There would exist an Islamic curriculum with the objective of building the Islamic mentality and Islamic disposition (i.e. inclinations) in the child. So not only would the child's actions be shaped by Islam but also their likes and dislikes would be in accordance with Islam.
  • They should as a result of school understand the halal and the haraam and follow them with enthusiasm.
Let us consider a similar scenario as above. The child arrives at a school in the Islamic State, and begins the day by greeting his/her colleagues and teachers with the greeting of Islam. The child has the first lesson, perhaps a science subject. It could be a selection of the experimental or pure sciences. It would be taught with the Islamic 'Aqeedah (belief) as the basis and an overriding guide.
You as the parent, could rest assured that ideas such as the Theory of Evolution would not be taught; humans would not be considered as advanced animals. Whereas science in the West is seen as a contradiction to belief in God, within the Islamic State science would be a confirmation of the existence of Allah. The child would come home and explain that he/she learnt about the water cycle: how Allah (swt) causes water to rise as vapor from the seas by evaporation and form clouds; then Allah (swt) would cause these clouds to give rain once they were over the lands; and Allah (swt) would cause the rain water to gather and return back to the seas to once again start the cycle.

Allah (swt) says:“Lo in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of night and day, and the ships which run upon the sea with that which is of use to men, and the water which Allah sends down from tire sky, thereby reviving tire earth after its death, and dispersing all kinds of beasts therein, and in the ordinance of thewinds, and the clouds obedient between heaven and earth, these are signs (of Allah's sovereignty) for people who have sense." [Quran: 2:164]
The child's next lesson may be a cultural subject such as languages, geography, history or fiqh (jurisprudence). In geography, the child would be familiar with the Islamic atlas. He/she would learn about the vastness of the Islamic State; how the Muslims are unified in one land under one leader. How its resources are managed according to Islam; its citizens, whether Muslim or non Muslims working together under one system.

The child would learn to be proud of being part of the leading nation. In languages the child would team the language of the Qur'an, not French or German (these could be studied in higher or further education). The child would not have to go to additional out of school Arabic lessons. He/she could read and understand the Qur'an, or refer to books in Arabic. In history, the child would be exposed to the rich Islamic history. He/she would study the different Khulafa'a and their achievements; the famous scholars and the roles they played; the discoveries and inventions that were made; the conspirators against Islam and how they were dealt with; the positive influence of the Khilafah upon the world. The child could show how the achievements of the Muslims of the Islamic State placed them hundreds of years ahead of their contemporaries (who were in the Dark Ages). They could give accurate accounts of the battle between Salahudeen and the Crusaders, or the life stories of the Sahabah (ra).

The child would gain a sound knowledge of the fiqh (jurisprudence). They would be able to provide detailed evidences for rules in Islam. They may even be able to correct your own actions as advice to the parents. They would understand the respect and obedience that Allah (swt) requires from the child to the parent. The universities and madrassas will not be separated but will be merged into one greater institution of enormous knowledge. Islam will not be taken as a separate element of life but as a part of life which will influence every aspect of a person’s individual and collective life. In the bigger school society, there would also be education of Islam through the state's media. Through television, radio and children's magazines, only Islamic ideals and values would be passed.

All these measures would guarantee the nurturing of a fine generation that could be the leaders of the Khilafah. And the child could contribute to this. In the Islamic State, the Education System is geared towards building the Islamic personality in all the students. This prepares them to live their lives in accordance with the orders and prohibitions of Allah (swt). They will be taught all they need to know about the various aspects of Islam, such as social conduct, prayer, Islamic law etc. In addition they will be motivated to achieve excellence in the fields of science and technology, commerce and the arts. These will be taught within the framework of Islam, such that the hypothetical ideas which are propounded as facts in the West, like evolution of humans from apes and matter and energy being eternal, will not corrupt their minds. In this way, the educational curriculum will ensure that Islam, science and the affairs of life will not be seen as separate and unconnected worlds, but will be regarded as a holistic and intricately interwoven whole. In the society as a whole, which teaches people as much as any school, by means of the television, magazines and radio; unacceptable images of sex, violence and crime will not exist in the Islamic State as an influence over the people. Rather, these unfruitful pursuits will be replaced with stories of the Prophet (saw) and his Sahabah (ra), or other lessons in the Islamic way of life.

From Asarulislam’s QURANA Proclamation of Liberty, as perceived by the Pioneers of The first Islamic State.

After Tipu Sultan Shaheed, a perfect character full of valour, bravery, vision, intellect, justice was the charcter of our great founding father, Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammed Ali Jinnah. Quaid-e-Azam was a perfect embodiment of a Mard-e-Momin. He perfectly followed the footsteps of the khulfa-e-Rashideen through out his life, though it be his moral values or political affairs. He was kind, just, truthful, honourable and dignified more than expressing in words. For this reason he was titled as “unpurschable” and “incorruptible”. He was an intellectual, an excellent orator. He had a benovelent convincing power. He was a man of clear vision. Quaid-i-Azam’s vision of Pakistan is very clear: he wanted Pakistan to be modern, progressive, dynamic, forward looking and a Islamic democratic country with equal rights for all its citizens irrespective of their casts, creed or religion. However here Quaid did NOT mean the western democracy. Western Democracy; which Iqbal r.a. defines as:

اس راز کو ایک مرد۔ فرنگانہ نے کیا فاش
ہر چند کہ دانا اسے کھولا نہیں کرتے
جمہوریت ایک طرزِ حکومت ھے کہ جس میں
!بندوں کو گنا کرتے ہیں تولا نہیں کرتے

The democracy proposed by Quaid was the SPIRITUAL DEMOCRACY,

“You have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic democracy, Islamic social justice and the equality of manhood in your own native soil.”  February 21, 1948

Had it been the western democracy, he would have never emphasized  on the term “ISLAM” in his speeches.

Was Quaid-e-Azam a secular being?
Who is a secular? Oxford Dictionary defines secular as one who is “not connected with religious or spiritual matters”
Let us analyse Quaid-e-Azam’s character in the light of this definition. In this context, nothing could be more authentic than Jinnah’s own confession about his faith. On August 6, 1939, he said: “I was born Muslim; I am a Muslim and shall die a Muslim.” On another occasion he said:“I am no Maulana or a Maulvi but I also know a little of my faith”  This clearly tells he wasNOT a secular character by any definition of 'secularism'.

Quaid-e-Azam (R.A)

Pakistan’s emergence was not just the emergence of a new state, but it was created on the basis ofIslamic ideology. He  did not plead tirelessly for the Muslim cause merely as an honest lawyer or merely for the sake of sympathy with the fellow Muslims. But he was truly close to the essence of Islam in all moral, spiritual and political values. Had he not been so, why did his words depict a true picture of Islam? Why does his character deeply associate to great charcters as represented by Islam? Quaid’s support for Muslims of the subcontinent, and  the demand for Pakistan was an expression of his deepest emotions for the political and cultural identity, whose roots were embedded in the State of Madina founded by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Khulafa-e-Rashideen.

Yet after 63 years, unfortunately people of Pakistan are heavily confused about the character of their founding father.  Even today they have no clear idea about the nature of Pakistan. Is it meant to be a religious state? An Islamic democratic welfare state? An Islamic social welfare state? Was it supposed to be a socialist republic? A liberal secular parliamentary democracy patterned after the Westminster model? Or is it supposed to be a straightforward dictatorship? While addressing the Karachi Bar Association in January 25, 1948, the Quaid-i-Azam said:
“I cannot understand the logic of those who have been deliberately and mischievously propagating that the Constitution of Pakistan will not be based onIslamic Shariat. Islamic principles today are as much applicable to life as they were 1300 years ago."
Where does the term "Islamic Shariat" exist in secularism? Here, Quaid-e-Azam crystal clearly declared, how his personality was, his deep affection to Islam and his desire to see Pakistan as an Islamic State.

Further, In 1946, Quaid-e-Azam declared

‘We do not demand Pakistan simply to have a piece of land but we want a laboratory where we could experiment on Islamic principles.

In his message to the frontier Muslim Students Federation, he said:

Pakistan only means freedom and independence but Muslims ideology which has to be preserved which has come to us a precious gift and treasure and which we hope, others will share with us.  (Address on 18th June 1945)

He had complete knowledge of the convents of Islam and was well acquainted with the prayer rituals. To dub Quaid-i-Azam as secular or that he wanted Pakistan to be a secular state is only an attempt to further confuse the quagmire of political thinking already prevalent in the country. On learning the life of Quaid-e-Azam, one comes to learn about the spirit of Islam that was prevelant in all aspects of his life. After learning this, how can one tag him as a secular character? Either the person is mentally dumb or either the person is simply anti-Islam.

Quaid-e-Azam r.a and Madr-e-Millat Muhtarma Fatimah Jinnah r.a
It must be understood that Pakistan was established on the basis of ‘Muslim nationhood’ and to safeguard the social, economic and political existence of the Muslims of the subcontinent which can only be satisfied under the flag of Islamic State.

Quaid and Millat-e-Islamia:
The word Islam is derived from the word"Salama", which means Peace, Safety, Security and Submission. When we look at some of the fundamental aspects of the Islamic culture, we can easily understand that the nature of Islam is peace. These are exactly the fundamentals on which Quaid-e-Azam desired to build up the building of Islamic Pakistan. On 5th March, 1948 he quoted:

“No doubt, there are many people who do not quite appreciate when we talk of Islam. Islam is NOT only a set of rituals, traditions and spiritual doctrines. Islam is also a code for every Muslim, which regulates his life and his conduct in even politics and economics and the like. It is based upon highest principles of honour, integrity, fair play and justice for all.”

“Come forward as servants of Islam, organize the people economically, socially, educationally and politically and I am sure that you will be a power that will be accepted by everybody.”

Quaid-e-Azam emphasized on the Islamic ideology as being the basis of the struggle for Pakistan because he believed that only Islam was the unifying force of the Muslim Millat. He said:

What relationships knits the Muslims into one whole, which is the formidable rock on which the Muslim edifice has been erected, which is the sheet anchor providing base to the Muslim Millat, the relationship, the sheet anchor and the rock is Holy Quran.

We should now, get rid of this illusionary concept that Quaid-e-Azam wanted Pakistan as a secular state. Pakistan was meant to be a state based on complete Islamic principles. By denying this fact, you simply wrong the purpose of creating Pakistan. For some reason this sacred land was name “PAKistan”. For some reason it was carved out on the world map on(Laylatul-Qadr) 27th Ramadan. For some reason it’s capital is “ISLAMabad”. These all are not just co-incidences. For some reason we were blessed with the fascinating personality of Allama Iqbal which stood by Quaid, made him gain optimism, made him Quaid-e-Azam from Muhammed Ali Jinnah. For some reason this sacred land gave rise to excellent character like Qudrat-ullah Shahab. For some reason unique personalties like Dr. Iffat Shahab, Mumtaz Mufti, Ashfaq Ahmed, Naseem Hijazi, Bano Qudsiya and many more were blessed to this land. These are secrets of Allah. Not everyone can see with the divine light

{EOP}Why Bin Laden’s Ghost Is Smiling {Eric Margolis}

by Eric Margolis
The assassination of Osama bin Laden by US Special Forces in Abbotabad, Pakistan will likely assure Barack Obama’s victory in the 2012 presidential race. Republican hawks will have a hard time pressing their claims that Obama is “soft on terrorism.”
Details about the killing of bin Laden remain obscure. The mission, a joint operation between CIA and Special Forces, appeared to have been mounted from a US-controlled air base in Pakistan – without the advance knowledge of Pakistan’s government. US sources say Osama was shot twice in the head; his son was also killed.
Bin Laden’s body was photographed and then apparently dumped into the sea from a US aircraft. Washington claims this was done to observe Muslim funeral rites calling for almost immediate burial. This sounds preposterous.
The real reason was more likely to prevent bin Laden’s burial site from becoming a shrine and, some cynics will assert, getting rid of the evidence. Expect endless claims that a bin Laden double was killed while the real McCoy still haunts Pakistan’s badlands. Various fakes videotapes used to depict bin Laden as the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks used doubles.
Gleeful Americans are rejoicing that the man credited with the monstrous crime of 9/11 has been killed after a ten year search. More thoughtful ones may stop to ponder the remarkable Quixotic drama of a single man who set out to overturn the mighty American Imperium.
To people of the Muslim world, where many hailed bin Laden as a hero and liberator from Western domination, his killing in Pakistan will recall American gangland rub-outs and bodies dumped in New Jersey’s waters and swamps. Particularly after NATO warplanes killed Muammar Gadaffi’s youngest son and three grandchildren in Libya.

Expect already acid US-Pakistan relations to yet worsen as Americans accuse Pakistan of sheltering bin Laden for a decade. This writer has long said that Bin Laden was in Pakistan, and likely with at least some knowledge of ISI, Pakistani intelligence, though its able former Director General, Hamid Gul, whose word I respect, disputes this claim.
It is most unfortunate that bin Laden was literally rubbed out. If he could have been taken alive, the co-founder of al-Qaida should have been brought to the United States to stand trial in New York City, or, failing that, on a military base – but with lawyers and a civilian jury under full US law.
The whole story of 9/11 and al-Qaida remains murky and confused. Fully a third of Americans don’t accept the official US government version of 9/11, believing the US government or Israel were somehow involved – without any conclusive evidence but a lot of angry questions.
Much of the rest of the world also disbelieves the official 9/11 version. In the Muslim world the percentage of disbelievers rises to over 80%.

Now, after bin Laden’s death, we may never really know. Dead men tell no tales. Bin Laden long claimed he had no role in 9/11. Yet he certainly gave his approval and support after the fact. Those al-Qaida suspects brutally tortured by CIA into confessions are unreliable sources of evidence that would never stand up in US courts.
One point I want to set to rest: based on my long experience in Afghanistan and Pakistan and with jihadi groups and bin Laden’s mentor and guide, Sheik Azzam, I can say with a high level of assurance that bin Laden never worked for or with CIA, as has been often claimed. They were merely on the same side during the anti-Soviet struggle.
A big question now is what justification will Washington come up with to keep 150,000 Western troops in Afghanistan?
Hunting down bin Laden was, remember, the primary reason for sending US troops to that remote nation. No doubt Taliban and its leader Mullah Omar will be morphed by the US media machine into a bin Laden stand-ins.

What of al-Qaida? This extremist group, as I have been writing since 1999, was tiny. Never more than 300 men in 2001. Today, the core al-Qaida in Pakistan consists of a handful of hunted men. CIA chief Leon Panetta asserted that there were something less than 50 al-Qaida members in Afghanistan. There may be a hundred in Pakistan – all on the run.
North America’s media and the Bush administration wildly exaggerated the menace, strength and reach of al-Qaida, panicking Americans into believing, as the analyst Kevin Phillips wrote, that suburban soccer moms in the deepest Midwest were petrified Osama bin Laden was coming for their kids.
The specter of al-Qaida provided a handy pretext to invade Afghanistan to secure strategic territory next to Central Asian oil, keep China out of that region, and double spending on arms. The invasion of oil-rich Iraq was also justified by patently false White House claims Saddam Hussein was in cahoots with Osama bin Laden over 9/11.
Al-Qaida “affiliates” in North Africa, Arabia, and south Asia are simply small groups of local militants who have taken the al-Qaida brand name without having any organic or communications links to the remnants of the core al-Qaida in Pakistan. They are more a dangerous nuisance than a deadly threat.
Osama bin Laden may well and truly be dead. He predicted long ago he would die a martyr in a gunfight with US forces. Bin Laden has been more or less retired for the past 8-10 years, spending his time and energies in staying alive with a $25 million price on his head. He had almost become irrelevant.
Al-Qaida’s number two, the Egyptian Ayman al-Zawahiri, remains at large and is now titular head of what remains of the organization of which he has been operations chief for many years. Dr. Zawahiri, who was brutally tortured in Egypt, is a dangerous extremist with much blood on his hands and a lust for revenge.
Bin Laden is dead, but bin-Ladenism lives on. Osama’s primary goal was to end Western domination of the Muslim world, and exploitation of its resources, which he claimed were being plundered. The Western-backed dictators, generals and kings that ruled the Muslim world as overseers for foreign interests had to be overthrown proclaimed bin Laden.
The Muslim world rejected bin Laden’s bloody-mindedness and his utopian calls for a reborn Islamic caliphate, but many of its people, particularly so younger ones, embraced his calls for revolutions to liberate the region from brutal dictatorships that licked the West’s boots, spread corruption, and betrayed the cause of Palestine. Husni Mubarak’s Egypt amply fit this description.
Osama bin Laden lived long enough to see the revolutions that he had helped ignite among young people burst into towering flames. In this sense, bin Ladenism will prosper and spread, enhanced by the image of Osama the martyr.
The Saudi revolutionary leaves another legacy. He repeatedly stated that the only way to drive the US from the Muslim world and defeat its satraps was by drawing the United States into a series of small but expensive wars that would ultimately bankrupt it. The United States under President George W. Bush and then Barack Obama rushed right into bin Laden’s carefully laid trap.
Today, the nearly bankrupt United States is spending hundreds of billions annually waging small wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, and the Sahara. Grotesquely overblown military spending and debt addiction are crippling United States. That is why the ghost of bin Laden may be smiling.

{EOP}Pakistan Warns US, India Against Covert Operations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday warned the US and India against any further covert operation in Pakistani territory, saying this would lead to a “terrible catastrophe”.
Admitting that the US assault that killed Osama bin Laden did achieve “important results”, foreign secretary Salman Bashir told the media: “This cannot be taken as a rule.”

“There should be no doubt that Pakistan has a capacity to ensure its own defence,” he said.
In an apparent reference to India, Bashir said: “Any other country that would ever act (similarly) on the assumption that it has the might … will find it has made a basic miscalculation.”
He added: “We see a lot of bravado in our region… from the military, air force, which state that this can be repeated.
“We feel that sort of misadventure or miscalculation will result in a catastrophe.”
US special forces launched the Monday morning raid without the knowledge of Pakistan officials, with helicopter-borne soldiers attacking a compound in Abbottabad, north of the capital, killing bin Laden and several others.
Pakistan has been under international pressure to explain why the al Qaeda chief was able to hide in a compound in a hill town near its capital.
The military has been criticised over the perceived violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. Bashir’s comments, while apparently directed at India, also seemed aimed at reassuring the public the military was capable of defending the country.
While few in Pakistan supported bin Laden and his ideology, violations of sovereignty can provoke street protests and media outrage.
The fact that bin Laden was found hiding in a garrison town, near Pakistan’s main military academy, has led to speculation the country’s main Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) security agency was in cahoots with him.
Bashir reacted that. “The critique of the ISI is not only unwarranted, it can not be validated,” he said.

{EOP}Kahuta: 1 USZ, 3 UK spies caught spying just 1 day before OBL circus

Four western diplomats, including Britons and an American, were caught spying in the prohibited surroundings of the restricted Kahuta atomic plant. Interior ministry sources while quoting an intelligence report said that they were taking photographs of the area and carrying electronic gadgets including cameras and a laptop. These sources said that they were intercepted, questioned and later escorted back to Islamabad by the Pakistan security officials with the clear warning that they were crossing the red-line. Their cameras were confiscated; however, they were not formally arrested or thoroughly probed after they proved their diplomatic status. Interior Secretary Chaudhry Qamar Zaman, who is presently abroad, could not be approached. However, his Additional Secretary Asif Nawaz, who is currently looking after the ministry as its acting secretary, when approached was unsure if he saw such a report or not.
“Frankly I don’t recollect it. I might have disposed it in routine as fresh receipts are normally marked down and to the concerned agencies for necessary action,” he said.

The FO spokespersons despite repeated efforts was not available for her response on the matter. According to an informed interior ministry source, the ministry not only received the information from the Punjab home department but the ISI is also aware of it. The UK High Commission spokesperson when contacted responded, This was a recreational hiking trip in the hills south of Murree. The group cooperated fully with the authorities.” The UK HC though did not explain any further but a diplomatic source explained that out of three of the UK High Commission officials identified in the report, only one is a regular member of the mission. According to the official report, four foreigners who were found in the forest area around Kahuta Atomic Plant on May 1 and intercepted in the afternoon included one USZ and three UK diplomats/officials. They include Ms Kilipna (or Kalitna) Merethy of the USZ Embassy while Mr Granyeer John Scort, Ms Exprece and Ms Angela Hyte were shown by the intelligence report as UK Embassy officials. Scort and Exprece were identified as having been associated with the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) wing of the embassy.

However, USZ embassy spokesperson Alberto Rodriguez when approached emailed to Pakistan's The News the following response:

“A female American diplomat was hiking in the Murree area on Sunday, May 1. That person was accompanied by three other persons of British, Canadian and New Zealand nationalities. While hiking, the group was stopped and questioned by the police. They were stopped, we understand, because the caretaker of a local cell or radio tower was asked by the police to report anyone unfamiliar in the area. The US diplomat was asked for identification and complied with the request of the police officer to show her camera to him. The police official looked at the digital photos on the camera and subsequently returned the camera without deleting any pictures. The group was informed that they were hiking in a restricted area and were subsequently escorted to the outskirts of Islamabad. The group saw no signs or markers indicating that the area was restricted. The American diplomat fully complied with the appropriate travel procedures at the embassy. The group comprised various nationalities. The group was in Murree, as the police can attest to, not in Kahuta or near an atomic power plant. I urge you to go back to your source and verify the information that was provided to you, as I believe there are errors in fact that would put into question whatever other information you have received. I am sure with your contacts, you can easily verify everything I have said with the local police in the area.”

However, the Special Branch Punjab report received by the Interior Ministry from the Punjab Home Department say:

“On 01-05-2011 at about 1240 hours, the field staff of Special Branch, Punjab, came to know about the presence of few foreigners in the forest area of Punj Pir, PS (police station) Kahuta taking photographs of the area. Kahuta Atomic Plant is visible from this area. They were also found carrying electronic gadgets including laptops. The matter was immediately brought in to the notice of Federal Intelligence Agency who also reached there and took the custody of the foreigners.” The report also contained the names of four foreigners as reflected earlier and identified as one American and three British.

Quoting the ISI report, the interior ministry source said that according to the ISI these four foreigners had gone there in a black Land Cruiser registration no Islamabad NS 857. They were intercepted initially by police around the restricted area of Kahuta atomic plant. When questioned, these foreigners were reported to have claimed that they were there for sightseeing. Having unsatisfied with their response, the police is said to have called the security officials of the Special Planning Division, who questioned them, verified their identities and escorted them back to Islamabad only after a clear warning that they were found in the no-go area. Two of their cameras with which they had taken the photographs of the sensitive area were confiscated.

Although Pakistan has now innumerable nuclear sites, Kahuta Atomic Plant for being the first atomic site developed is globally recognised as one of the major nuke sites of Pakistan. There has been repeated efforts made by the western, American and Indian intelligence operators to spy on the Kahuta Atomic Plant but as yet not only this particular nuclear site but each and every nuclear installation of the country has been remained inaccessible and fully secure. Only a couple of years back, some members of the US private company - DynCorp - reportedly containing CIA’s under cover operators were found involved in spying and several of them were disengaged from the places like Sihala Police College where they were apparently imparting training of police officials but were alleged to have been spying on Kahuta Nuclear facility. The Pakistani authorities noted suspected activities of certain members of DynCorp, which under a contractual obligation between Pakistan and the US, as was agreed during Musharraf’s regime, was engaged in law enforcement training, security matters and air aviation cooperation here.

Some of the intelligence agencies including the ISI and IB had credible reports about the involvement of certain members of DynCorp in spying business. An intelligence agency had reported to the government in 2009 that three Americans alongwith a Pakistani had tried to trespass into restricted area of Kahuta Power Plant but the official security agency deployed at the check post got alerted and intercepted them when they crossed the check post and entered restricted area. The Pakistani accompanying these Americans was a retired assistant director of the FIA, who while introducing himself as FIA officer had managed to free the Americans and returned. Through this trespassing, according to the official report, the Americans had tried to check the security arrangement for Kahuta Research Laboratories. That very incident had played a vital role in moving out DynCorp men from Sihala Police college facility where they were allowed to train the police officials but were found in spying the country’s nuclear facility.
