{EOP}USZ, UK scapegoated an Iraqi Chemical Scientist to wage war on Iraq

An Iraqi chemical engineer says he had been used as a scapegoat for the 2003 launch of the USZ-led and UK-aided invasion of Iraq. “They gave me this chance. I had the chance to fabricate something…”, Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi told British daily The Guardian on Tuesday. He had told Western spy agencies that Baghdad had secret mobile biological weapons and hidden weapons of mass destruction (WMD) factories. Former USZ President George W. Bush cited the false alarm as the rationale behind the invasion -- which has killed at least one million Iraqis, most of them civilians.

To enable the invasion, the government of former British Premier Tony Blair had also claimed that deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein could mount deadly unconventional attacks on his desired targets within 45 minutes. A memoire by Former USZ Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld recently hit the shelves, in which he admitted that Baghdad had no WMD program. The British paper also cited Janabi as saying that UK intelligence officials had implied that, in the event of his non-cooperation, his then-pregnant Moroccan-born wife may not be able to travel from Spain to join him in Germany, where he was staying. “He says, you work with us or your wife and child go to Morocco.”
